  12. Hi ElizabethO! I couldn't find any insurance to cover bariatric surgery in Kentucky. It was going to cost me $14.5K to pay out of pocket here. I went down to Tijuana, Mexico to have mine on 12/7. I don't regret my decision at all! Was only $4K!!
  13. Good Morning everyone! I am 269.8. Was hoping for more, but I will take it!! I am sure it doesn't matter much now, but I wasn't highlighted as being in the two hundreds. LOL Thanks for all you've done Steph!!
  14. This is so nice! Thank You! Please pray for me as I am 3.5 weeks post op. I need daily prayers to continue to eat well and exercise. I am ready to be a new version of myself, but that doesn't mean I don't have bad days. Thanks again!!!
  15. Good for you for taking up for yourself! I haven't dealt with anything like this, but stand your ground! They don't know what a struggle you have had with weight loss, and then the journey you had to get the sleeve. I am sure you did a lot of thinking before hand, and it isn't an easy decision to make. It wasn't for me. I was giving up one of my best friends....FOOD! But I knew I had to do it for me. Not anyone else. Sure I want to live a long life with my husband, but in the end, you do it for you! I am proud of you and everyone else on BP. We all have faced something that the rest of the world doesn't understand. They have no right to criticize us for our decisions.

  17. I wasn't too scared, but it really was easier and less painful than I thought it would be. My biggest pain was gas in my chest. Make sure you have some gas-x strips at the hospital. Also walk as much as you can. Those things helped me a lot! I didn't have any regrets but I have found myself missing food. Especially during pms. That was some of my biggest eating times. I am still getting use to all the noises my new stomach sounds!
  18. 5 weeks from start of pre-op. Down 40 pounds.
  19. Hope that you are doing good after your surgery today!!!
