Interesting. Well, I guess that might answer my question of why I enjoy savory instead of sweet now.......and why even my Protein shakes sometimes taste too sweet for me. Thanks for the interesting read!

Such a great attitude and I'm really going to try to follow in your footsteps! I'm 8 weeks post op and have not only been stalled over a week but gained a couple pounds back. (grrrr lol) I've checked and re-checked to make sure I'm following my plan properly and everything is A-OK there. I think I need to trust that my body knows what it's doing at this point. Your thread was some much needed encouragement though, thanks!

Edamame is an excellent source of Protein and I love how delicious they are. I like to roast them personally but they are great warm, cold, or added to certain dishes.

    Melted cheese!
Add cheese to just about any vegetable and it increases the Protein content.

I was whining here a while back about a stall....I had been 180lbs for a month. .some lovely poster told me to "embrace the stall" as it was my body's way to do a big drop..ABSOLUTELY TRUE! Got on the scale at 180 and again the following week....166! Yay!
    EMBRACE THE STALL!
thank you poster whoever you are!

LadyReyven got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in Under-the-chin sagging
Totally understand the concern, it was a big one for me too. I'm sure it does sound really vain of me but I have always loved that people always think I'm 10-15 years younger then I actually am and I know it's because of my "baby face". I have been afraid, since before surgery, that losing weight (especially that lil extra under my chin) would lead to sag and wrinkles and well, would make me look my age.
I have been doing "neck exercises" (look up toward the sky and pout your lips....you can feel it tighten in your chin and neck, hold for 5 seconds, repeat) and I use Palmers cocoa butter lotion twice a day. I might be nuts but it seems like things are firming up a bit. Either way, I am getting so may "you look so good!"s that I guess it can't be all bad. Even if I look more my age now!

Congrats! It's a wonderful feeling isn't it? I was on 2 types of insulin, 3 oral meds plus 1 non insulin injection daily. Since the day of my surgery (I'm 6 weeks post op today!) I have only had to take 1 pill a day. The most awesome part was that yesterday I got the results of my first A1C since surgery........I went from 8.1 (even on all of those meds) to a 6.3! It's truly a great feeling.
Wishing you continued success and good health!

At just under 3 weeks post op I gained weight then stalled for a week and a half. I wanted to scream. I felt like I was doing something wrong. After reading about this infamous "3 week stall" on here, then double checking that I was getting in all of my Protein, Water, & Vitamins, and making sure I was getting some exercise daily, I just let it go. I started weighing in only once a week and also started doing my measurements once a week. It sucked but apparently it really is just part of the process. If you know you are doing things the way you should be, trust that your body is behaving the way it should. I know that's WAY easier said then done but hopefully if enough people tell you they have been there, done that and it's normal you'll be able to get through it a little easier. It really does sound like you're doing great, keep it up!

You could find one of those portable arm bikes so you can sit and get movement that way. Maybe even some small weights to use doing some arm work? There are some exercise videos all done from chairs. Check out collagevideo.com. they have lots of those.

There are work out videos called sit aerobics that I've heard are really good for people who can't be on their feet.

I agree about the exercise peddler. I got one pre-op and peddled it with my hands while I watched TV.
Chair exercises, hand weights, resistance bands, calisthenics: anything you can do to move your hands, arms, upper body are good options.

Came home from hospital yesterday .
No complaints about anything about the sleeve surgery.
The only pain I'd felt in recovery room and still has been from an abdominal hernia he repaired after completing the sleeve. It's understandable. I will say with absolute certainty that the pain is much less than on previous oven repairs I've had on hernias in that vicinity.
I'm grateful that he was able to take care of this at the same time with a great result. He had been thinking that it would not be a lasting repair when he was evaluating pre-op.
So grateful that things proved different once he got in and could see the actual site.
Other than this pain I would even question whether the sleeve surgery even occurred. ????
It has been feeling great. Just taking small sips of Protein Shakes and Water. All seems well.
What is funny is how my legs feel. My inner thighs feel like I've been using the hip abductor & adductor machines at the gym.
    Really sore in legs.
Anyone have similar oddball soreness in unexpected areas?
What is unreal to me is that I went into surgery healing a herniated disc at T-12.
There has been zero issues with pain in my back while post-op. Simply amazing.
I have no explanation other than the perhaps the Toradol they shot into my IV every so often the 24hrs after surgery.
Weird stuff, but zero complaints from this patient. I feel like a lottery winner and hope that everyone else has like experience with their upcoming sleeves.
