  1. Keep it up, I am going to pull out my oldies but goodies video tapes and DVDS. You pushed me to it. LOL!
  2. Lol, i did the same thing
  3. I am two days post op and doing good. Pain in the incision area, but overall not too much. Lapband revision to a gastirc sleeve, glad the lap band is gone. Directed by doc to start full liquids at home, but I am not ready. Clear fluids going down real good. I will stick with that for a couple more days. Sleeved at Fort Jackson. To God be the glory I came out alright. Also, thanks for all the replies and comments, I was truly prepared for most things. Appreciate you all!
  4. Are you all active duty or retired? If you are retired you do not have to go through tricare. However, if you are not retired, I would call the military treatment facility (the department that does the surgeries). I would ask them what I need to do in order to get an appointment with the surgeon. You may have talked to a rookie at Tricare, but call the hospital and they will give you clarity.
  5. Powerful, and I recieve it. I truly needed that, surgery is right around the corner. If he brought me to it he'll bring me through it.
  6. Hi, thanks for your response. My doc gave me a pamphlet, and we are on full liquids as soon as we get home. We are only on clear liquids in the hospital. I was just wondering about the meat portion of my full liquids menu, but i guess if you blend it well with broth its okay. I will try it before surgery and see. My doc says I can drink anything that could go through a straw, but do not use a straw.
  7. Hi, everyone. Okay I understand that I will be on full liquids once I leave the hospital. However on my full liquids list it says tuna and turkey blended and thinned with broth and hot cereal thinned with milk. My doctor & NUTconsiders this full liquid, has anyone else done this? Is this a full liquid? Hmmmm, I don't know.
  8. That's great!, Congrats on the weight loss.
  9. Haven't had surgery yet, but I love the EAS whey protein shakes. I add one teaspoon of low fat peanut butter, delicious, and its full of protein, skim milk and ice. I can't taste the protein. 2 scoops is 46grams, and then 8 grams from the peanut butter pretty much low cal. Just delicious. Carbs are low on the peanut butter and protien powder. I add some cocoa to it to make it more chocolaty, the real cocoa(low carb, low cal), not already made ones. Getting myself ready to drink fluids and protein shakes.
  10. Thank you for response, looking forward to getting this band out.
  11. Hi, its good that you are only a little hungry. Are you in any pain? I am to be sleeved soon.
  12. My surgery is soon. I am a full time student, and my professors don't mind letting me off, but I don't want to get behind. Most of the stuff I can do online, but some things have to be done in the science lab. I am thinking 1 week off and hit the classroom. I have two classes on campus and two online. Is this too soon? I am expecting to come out just fine in Jesus name, no complications. Let me know how quickly you went back to work or school. Also, I was not expecting to have surgery so soon, but better now than never. No chicken here. One class is only 1 hour 15 minutes 2xweek, and the other 3 hours twice week. Mon-Thurs. I believe my teacher will let me leave early after the lab or lecture because of my surgery. I have to work it out with her. Most work is turned in online.
  13. How are you feeling?
  14. Hi, thanks for the response. I think the gastric sleeve maybe a faster weight lost than the lapband. You are right, it maybe how fast you lose it. I do not have to lose quickly so once I am able to eat I will try to keep calories healthy but not below 1000. I am not the bravest when it comes to having surgeries, I am like a kid the closer it gets. Run or hide. I want the gastric sleeve to be my last one, no plastics, the lapband was my first surgery.
  15. Thanks so much for sharing and it did help, I am a work out person too. I see, I will lift heavier on my biceps and triceps, and add some squats in. I am not the bravest when it comes to surgery, so I want the gastric sleeve be my last one, no plastics.
  16. I recieve it oregondaisy, I am believing God for the same outcome, so I can go back to class in about 4 days. I hate to get behind in school.
  17. Hi, I was wondering how many people have a lot of sagging skin after revising to the sleeve? My heaviest before the lap band was 263 and my lowest was 192. 219 is my weight today, I am tall and most people think I weigh less, but I don't. Band will be removed shortly. However, with the band I did not have any sagging skin after a 71 pound weight loss. I read another thread that it depends on your elasticity in your skin. I have had children and never got stretch marks on my stomach. For real! So I am hoping I am one of those shrink to size people without plastics, I will hit the weights and the gym. What about the arms sagging? anyone? Love working out anyway, just like to see results. My band is up and down, tired of it. Thanks in advance.
  18. FYI Fort Jackson does the band, easy process if you are revising from band to sleeve, only have to see a NUT and Pre-op, upper GI, and Endo. Scheduled already for surgery.
  19. Hi, Fort Jackson does the sleeve as well, pretty quick process if you are revising, did not have to go throug Tricare. Surgery is very soon.
  20. Haven't had surgery yet, but I would be scared to cheat, thinking I would rupture my stomach. I agree, follow your doctor's regimen post-op.
