  1. Thanks for your reply, nausea is not my favorite either. I am feeling a lot better about the surgery now.
  2. Hi, thanks for all the replies, I am going to get the sleeve, just hoping I can get it down at the same time, and don't have to do two surgeries. Appreciate all the comments, and they were very encouraging.
  3. Hi, thanks for your comment, I never had any erosions, slips, or abscesses, just a lot of acid reflux and choking during sleep. This band has to go.
  4. Thanks for your comments, I am pain tolerant. Gas I can expect, doesn't feel good, but I can live with it. However, pain like abdominal pain or pain in the stomach, on the inside, I can tolerate too, but not at extreme levels. Hopefully I can have them done at the same time, andersonlj.
  5. Hi, got an appointment real soon, and was wondering about the pain after surgery, especially if they do both. For those of you who had the band removed, and the gastric sleeve put in at the same time, did it hurt extra worse than the band surgery? I do not like too much pain, some, but not over the top pain. The lapband surgery hurt, but it was not that bad. I know I sound like a big baby, but to my Mom and Hubby I am. LOL! Your thoughts are appreciated! God bless!
  6. All will be well, enjoy, and take some of the advice on this thread. I don't have the sleeve yet, and will be asking for more advice soon.
  7. What you say? LOL! I love me some salad too, and I ate one yesterday. However, with the band, most of it did not stay down. This is why the band must go.
  8. Hi, enjoying all the comments. Thanks for all of your responses, it helps.
  9. Dooter, good question. That probably would be my approach, because I am so surgery conscious after surgery.
  10. Thanks so much for your responses andersonlj and pdxman. I've waited 4 years to eat good veggies and fruits, I can wait 4-6 months. I can live off of salad, even though we need more nutrients.
  11. Hi, I am a newbie on the boards, and I had lapband surgery in 4/08, and I am having issues with the band. I lost about 70 pounds on the band, but the choking at night and acid reflux has caused me to want to take it out. I can not lose weight right because either it is too tight or too lose. I am tired fo this, I need rest. I will have the band removed, but was thinking of getting the gastric sleeve done while they are in there. On the band I could bearly eat salad, hardly any real veggies, and no fruit. Also, I could bearly eat eggs on the band. Can you eat "real healthy" foods with the gastric sleeves, like broccoli, cabbage, real food? I love healthy foods, just could not eat many of them on the band. A 1/4 of a cup is fine for me, I just want to eat some squash, and okra.
  12. Getting it taken out, and hopefully revised at the same time. I am so tired of choking and acid reflux. I basically have to stand up to eat too.
  13. I have posted to the right topic, how do I delete this post?

  15. I believe abortion is wrong, but I can't talk as much as some of you, so I am going to state that and take care of my business. Anything else is between that person and God.
  16. Just too young, that's all I have to say.
  17. Sounds like a total sicko, I still would tell my husband just in case he tries something even weirder.
  18. If you are tall 200 pounds may not look bad, but still not a healthy weight. If you are short, it is still not a healthy weight. So do what you need to do.
  19. I truly don't want to be without emotion or emotionless, then that makes you kind of coo coo.
  20. I said catch me during the wrong time of the month, does not have to be my period, unh huh, gotcha. I am a community leader, and I do a lot of dealings within my community, so the time of the month could mean anytime I am exhausted and worn out. We do a lot as mothers and women, you can not deny that. Emotional does not mean we are not in control, for me it means that I have a heart and I do care. I am moved by the things that I see or hear, but not so emotional that I am not in control of them. However, I can see your point.
  21. I believe that if Sarah Palin had been a man it would have been different. If this had been a man he would not have been condemned for an interview. Not trying to toot my own horn, but I think I am an excellent speaker, but catch me during the wrong time of the month or if I am sick, and you would think I could not speak at all. We are women, we go through so many emotions, and I am not a 100% at all times.
