Pescador got a reaction from Funky_Brewster in Chest Pain After Eating
I am not sure why it happens. Seems it would be lower down. Just resting or walking relieves it. I feel it in the middle of my chest, even 4 years post sleeve.

I would be way more concerned after 4-5 glasses of social wine of blacking out somewhere. Very low Alcohol tolerance following the sleeve, and you can get drunk way fast. Beware. Your food addiction can become another addiction.

I went to seminars with my husband 20 years. Everything seemed too invasive and scary until the right surgeon at a sleeve seminar. Still he was to sold. I discovered with three comorbidities I qualified and I signed up. He followed me into it. He was so afraid because of his severe diabetes, and heart problems. Overweight all his life, I watched him starve himself on Optifast shakes for 2 one year periods, lose 100 lbs, and always gain it back. Now for FOUR years he has kept off the 100 lbs, and no more Rescue calls in the middle of the night. At 70 years old now, kayaking, fishing, boating, he would tell you it is the best thing he ever did for his health! We would both do it again in a heartbeat!

I never give the waitress a chance to ask a thing. We wave her off that we are fine. I would not complain about a server being over attentive, because they already get it for being not attentive. She cannot figure out everyone's eating habits. When I was first sleeved four years ago, I ate before I went out and sipped tea, or I ordered a cup of bisque, and sipped a little. The focus was laughing and talking. Really, I have figured out the servers have a job to do and don't worry about us as much as we think they do, LOL!!!!!

I'm not telling my mom. Even she bullied me with my weight and to my kids.

My husband doesn't want anyone to discuss his toenails, his heart stent, his diabetes and sleeve. Damn, life is so much easier not sharing your health information!

Cottage cheese, Protein Shakes, SF Torani shakes for flavoring, SF pudding, yogurt (was told the one with about 8 grams or less of sugar, Soups. Won't need much else. I spent 8 hours in the hospital, and the next day drove myself to the grocery. In four days I walked approximately three blocks. I thought I would be down awhile, bought way too much in bulk, learned I hate Protein Bars, and half the stuff became outdated and ended up in the trash. At first a boiled egg would keep me for hours, or a Protein Shake. Unfortunately all that changes and you can eat anything and everything. Good luck!

I am hoping, along with what some of y'all have said, that if I'm physically fit enough to do the job currently that losing weight would only make it easier. And my wife is 8months post op and she can drink a half of a bottle of Water every 15-30 minutes. At that rate I would get more than enough water. But then getting calories necessary is another story. But she drinks Protein Shakes that have 30g of Protein in them so that would help too.

I was just told no driving while in pain meds. I drove less than a week afterward- maybe 4 days. I didn't need a lot of pin meds.

I wish you the very best of happiness in the future. I am 70, and I can tell you that emotionally I have been in an upheaval since the sleeve in 2013. I still struggle with anger, something I have never felt before. I certainly would advise anyone not to make any life changing decisions for l-2 years after the sleeve. Good luck!

Til the anesthesia wore off I just slept. I went home thinking I would be recovering and I felt like I never even had anything done. I was bored to death and drove to the grocery store to browse labels. I had stocked up on so many things thinking I under be unable to shop, and cannot begin to tell you all the shakes and powders that expired and went in the garbage. Honestly the first three days I did nothing special. I remember sitting in my closet cleaning out clothes and reorganizing. I felt so great. I wish you a great experience!

Actually I was outpatient. Checked in the hospital at 6 am, taken to surgery suite, then I was done and in recovery, slept a little, had the swallow test, and went home at 2 pm. I had no pain or nausea. I told the surgeon get me in and out as fast as possible. There are too many bugs you can get in the hospital, like staph infection. The surgeon was amazing!

At age 67 I spent 8 hours at the hospital. I needed nothing. I wore loose clothing to the hospital, and wore them home. I took l pain pill when I got home, drove to the store the next day, and walked the mall four days later. I hope you are as lucky!!!

We're doing Royal Caribbean, which I consider something in the middle - Not Carnival, but not quite elegant luxury either (I do have two older kids in tow after all haha). I'm actually pretty disciplined with eating in general (buffets will be great for getting small meals throughout the day I hope), but I want to allow myself my pina coladas at night.
