You are doing great with 40 g Protein. I'm a month out, you will feel so much better soon. Push thru this painful first week, I barely remember it now I gained 10 pounds in hospital after surgery due to Water weight, swelling. You got this! No regrets!

I'm down to a half hour before I go into the hospital. Starving, thirsty, tired. Can't wait for my cat nap. 2pm the surgeon starts. IV anxiety setting in.....

@@soonergirl619 I don't mean to criticize your husband, but I think you need to set some expectations with him about your eating timeline after surgery. Three weeks after surgery, your diet is still pretty restricted (pureed), and you could hurt your pouch (or throw up) by eating foods too advanced too quickly. Just the facts.
Eventually, you should be able to eat a wide variety of foods and going to restaurants will be easier. But early on, I think the expectation should be that you can't eat in restaurants very easily if at all. I would hope he can support you with that at least during your early weeks after surgery.
I would agree with the others: Soup (with all solid stuff removed if at a restaurant) or take your own foods. If you do eat at a restaurant, be careful of hidden sugar and fat.

So this morning I was looking in my closet trying to figure out what to wear to work when I saw "the dress." I bought "the dress" back in March for my birthday from Old Navy (I bought it online). When it came in, it didn't fit. Not, just barely didn't fit, but like really didn't fit. I had to un-button all the buttons to get it over my head, the elastic band around the middle was stretched out all the way, and then I could only re-button about 2 of the buttons and they weren't attractively buttoned either; don't even get me started on how the sleeves fit. I never returned it, it just sat in a bag at the back of the closet (eventually I hung it up).
Well, this morning, I saw it hanging there, and there weren't any other clothes that I really wanted to wear this morning, and so I thought I would just see how it's fitting, knowing that I had other dresses I could quickly put on when it didn't fit. I undid all the buttons, stretched out the band as far as it would go, pulled it over my head, and began to button. Then I realized that it fit. The waist was cinched. The buttons buttoned. The sleeves were loose. The chest of the dress was loose. I began to tear up. I ran to the mirror to see what it looked liked and it looked great! I couldn't believe it. I know I had the surgery to better my life, but this part is definitely nice too.

Last week I was not chewing well enough and my food was stuck in my pouch. I couldn't keep anything down. I ended up back in the hospital to have endoscopy to get it cleared. chicken was hanging out in there along with whatever I ate after that. Hard lesson to learn. Chew chew chew!!

I sometimes use a mini food processor to chop up food before I eat it. The other night I made a roast beef for my wife and chopped my portion with a little gravy in the Cuisinart. Tasted great and well tolerated.

I am a week and one day post op. Glad I took the week off work, mornings are great, afternoons I nap. I can't look at a Protein Shake at the moment, however I do do Protein Drinks (taste like punch) but no sugar or carbs, just Protein. I am off my pain pills. I can eat 1/2 cup of Soups, eggs, oatmeal....that's pretty much my diet right now. I did take 2 bites of a chocolate cupcake and dumped it within a half hr (this was yesterday). Today I woke up with no hunger so I thought I would try coffee and Creamer and dumped within minutes. So needless to say, sweets are my enemy which is great because they were my best friend before. Pre op I weighed 271....Sept 1 was surgery and I weighed 262....a week and a day later I am 254. I am on a chewable multi Vitamin I take 2 times daily. I have my 2/week check up next Monday.

Had my surgery at 2pm on Sept 1st. It is absolutely painless except for gas in chest/shoulders area. I was up walking around by 9pm. For all those worried, I have a low pain tolerance and would not hesitate to do it all over again, what a breeze. Surgery took 2 hrs, by the time I woke up it was nearly 6pm, and was walking the hall with my IV at 9pm. Hope you all have a smooth surgery like I did!

Nikikins, you are going to be just fine. Had a great experience, and was up walking around last night by 9pm, as surgery was at 2pm yesterday. The only pain I feel is fas coming up in chest shoulders, walking helps get that moving on out. Take a deep breath my friend, you got this. I will be thinking about you today, good luck!
