Sleeve and sushi?
I won't eat rice cuz it scares me. I have had two people told me the only time they threw up was with rice. I guess it expands in the stomach and makes you fuller.

Hair loss...does it ever come back?
I am 9 weeks out and losing hair. I am so sad. I started my bariatric vitamins weeks before surgery. I have had several other surgeries and have never lost hair. I stopped taking my hormones when I had surgery and started them again 2 weeks ago. That hasn't helped. I am surprised I am losing hair so early. I am getting 85-100 g of protein daily. Biotin helps with growth. I don't think anything helps with loss except protein. It real really stress me out if it continues.

Help! I am 3 days post op and I'm struggling!
I am a big advocate for pain meds. There is no reason not to take them. Take as long as you need no reason to hurt and be miserable. I took them several days after I got home.

If this wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious

Anybody else have a huge dog that loves them so much its painful?
So precious! I have always wanted big dogs. Now I have cats. I have had to put down my 18 year old dog and a 15 year old. Don't think I want to get that attached any more however I am super duper attached to my cats.

Dry hair/hair loss
I thought i was losing hair at 2 months! It is coming out when I shower. It really concerned me because I have read that it comes out at four months. I guess I am going to take the next step and buy Nixon or something to make it grow back.

i believe dub has schnauzers i will tell you that you will not want a dog or anything else on your stomach for a little while. it will be sore for a few days, then you will want to be careful not to be 'run over' by your furbaby as to not cause damage. laying on you will not cause trouble, just being 'hit' in the stomach could be troublesome. anytime i have had surgery of any kind my dogs always seemed to sense something was going on. they were small and not overly active so i really didnt have much to worry about. golden retrievers are so smart precious animals.

Pain/Discomfort/Recovery: C-Section vs. Gastric Sleeve?
my sleeve was MUCH easier than either of my C sections. the soreness in my stomach the first couple of days reminded me of my C sections, but it was more soreness than pain. i really had no pain with the sleeve. as a matter of fact, the sleeve was the easiest surgery i have had.

COFFEE
i was allowed to have coffee and tea as long as i did not put sugar and cream in. i am still allowed. it just depends on your doctors orders. i know tea/coffee acts as a diuretic so i cannot have much. you should talk to your doctor about it and see if he will allow a small amount.

Liquid Protein
I did confirm, from an expert, that "new whey protein" tubes are mostly collagen protein and are worthless for WLS protein goals. However, they are good for hair, skin, and nails.

New Whey Protein Shots
OK. I finally talked to an expert. This guy has a masters degree in nutrition and I trust his knowledge completely. He said that "new whey protein" that comes in the tube is mostly collagen protein and that we only absorb 4% , just as someone mentioned earlier. It is not something we want to use to get our 100 g of protein (or whatever your amount is) but it is good for your hair, skin, and nails. I am very disappointed but am glad I found out.
