  1. I joined a gym called Triangle Fitness. I pay less than 20 a month and it has free child care.
  2. Idk... are you on antibiotics? When I'd your surgery?
  3. I'll be heading to the hospital in about 24 hours! I'm excited and nervous... and a little bit worried. I can't wait to get started on this journey!
  4. Me too! My surgery is Tuesday as well. I keep thinking of things to add to my list. Today is the day before surgery and I can't sleep. I need to wash the sheets, clean my car, pack my son's suitcase, pack my hospital bag and scrub the tub. That's probably why I am wide awake at 4:30 in the morning.
  5. I'm so sorry about the whole situation. You and your family will be in my prayers. I wouldn't call them out publicly. Although I think I would tell them one on one that you are hurt by their actions. They could have handled that many different ways, but they didn't handle it well. However, even the best Christian makes mistakes and is worthy of forgiveness. Afterall, isn't that why Jesus died on the cross? Then I would work hard at forgiving them and letting it go. You will be able to focus more on your family if it's not eating you up inside.
  6. I'm Crystal Cash White... my profile picture is my son as a newborn beside a f ootball. I looked for you but couldn't fin a you!
  7. Can you post a link to the group?
  8. I just looked... did you make it?
  9. I would have happy to start one!
  10. I'm not too worried about recovery. That's one of the reasons I chose the lapband. I talked to my surgeon today about the port. We talked about a couple different places he could place it.
  11. I'm not having doubts... not yet anyway. I briefly considered switching to the sleeve, bit ultimately I think the band is a better fit for my life.
  12. I have told the people that I know will be supportive. I am learning that I have some really great friends! I'm ready to "go public" but I don't mind if people know. It's like the words are just hard to say, but a couple of people- like my grandma- have asked if it's ok to share.
  13. Yay for a August Banders group! I had my last pre op appt today. I have lost 4 pounds on the pre op diet so far. My surgeon said I need to keep heading in the direction. He kept saying that if he couldn't move my liver he wouldn't place the band (which I already knew). He didn't tell me I had to lose a certain number of pounds but I got the feeling he wasn't happy with 4. Did anyone's surgeon give them a specific amount of weight to lose?
  14. I'm glad to see people satisfied and happy too. I feel good about my decision to band. I used to 2nd guess myself when people would come on the lapband board and bash it, but now I just get a little irritated. I get it. It doesn't work for everyone. However, when I go back to the reasons I chose the band over sleeve or bypass, those reasons are still valid.
  15. I wouldn't worry about your past mistakes. All you can do is move forward from where you are now! Instead of thinking about paying for your mistakes, think about all the money you will be saving on future healthcare! Thankfully, my insurance covers me, I'm just having to pay the deductible. What Protein shakes have you tried?
  16. Yes, I am halfway through the pre op diet. It's not TOO bad, but it isn't fun. I can have 3 protein shakes a day and 2 small meals. The meals are 3 oz of lean protein, 1.5 of leafy salad greens and .5 cup of a nonstarchy vegetable. Plus, SF jello, SF popscicles and all the celery and cucumber I want.
  17. My PCP did that while I was in the room with him. I hope she hurries!
  18. Yeah, it does help to talk to people who ate going through the same thing. I had pre op at the hospital today and I will have an appt with the surgeon tomorrow. I am planning on asking if I can use gas x after surgery. Any other questions?
  19. Maybe you could start heading to the doctors office, or at least call them, so you could start creating a history?
