My PCP called me today to tell me about it. It was discovered during pre-surgical testing. I am waiting all friggin day for the dr to call me back. No antibiotics yet as I haven't heard from him. Surgery is scheduled for Monday 8/10. Freaking out here.

Well this was the PCP's office that was freaking out. They already sent my clearance before that. The urine was taken during pre surgical testing at the hospital. The hospital called and gave me my arrival time and procedure time, so it seems that they are not worried. I also have no symptoms. So my fingers are crossed. I have to arrive at 10:30 for a 12:30 procedure.

Uh oh. It's ultimately up to your surgeon, but I would prepare myself for a delay.

Ok update: my PCP consulted with my surgeon. I have to go tomorrow morning to give another urine sample, then start antibiotics immediately. All is good for surgery. They are all ok proceeding as is. If it comes down to it they will give an antibiotic shot before the procedure. Hooray I'm good to go.

BTW thanks for all of the responses. My anxiety has now settled.
