  1. I have not, but the psychiatrist shared something similar with me.
  2. One of the suggestions my psychiatrist gave me was to do arm curls during commercials, especially food ones. I don't watch a lot of tv but I think it's a great idea.
  3. I sat on the fence about whether or not to do the surgery for a couple years. I finally did the seminar in the fall but didn't start the process til the spring. I'm a teacher so I was trying to time it so the surgery could be done in the summer but I'm not sure I got it all done in time. I can't imagine doing the pre-op diet and getting ready to back to school!
  4. This is a concern of mine. I'm a teacher, and have learned to scarf down my food quickly so I can use the time to do other things.
  5. I'm a bit of an open book. I've told many people. I've been honest about the choice and why I made the choice. I have shared my fears and anxieties as well. 90% of the people have been supportive, I ignore the others.
  6. I can't wait to cross my legs! A friend of mine who had bypass said that she likes crossing her legs because her excess skin slides down and all she sees is perfect thighs!
  7. Yeah we are! I know people who have had to jump through hoops! When I went to the initial seminar, I was asked what my insurance was. When I said I was a state employee and BCBS, the lady was like- finally, an easy one! Fill this out! Teenahh... how long after approval did you have surgery?
  8. The bariatric coordinator... she's done everything. All I do is show up!
  9. I don't even know how I will find out...
  10. I'm going to join the party a little late! How did everything go? I just finished all my requirements so I am waiting for a surgery date!
  11. I don't cook a lot during the school year but my nutritionist gave me lots of ideas for no/low carb goods. Meet and cheese roll ups are my fave! I take a string cheese and tear it into 3-4 sections. Then I wrap a piece of deli meat around it and eat. It's portable and easy!
  12. I finished all the requirements to have my surgery submitted for approval yesterday! Yay! My question is purely for my entertainment unless someone else has the exact insurance as I do. (NC BCBS) How long did you have to wait for approval once it went to insurance?
  13. Hmmmm... it may not be the happy answer, bit maybe you will to spend more time on "medically supervised" diet. Then maybe you're history would show a more problematic BMI.
