Fast Food/Restaraunt Ideas?
I have never heard of any pizza places doing that but I haven't really looked either. I think it would be easier to take something to work. If you are craving pizza you could make your own low carb option.

Scheduled surgery while waiting for approval?
My surgery was scheduled the same day they submitted to insurance. I don't know if they always do that or if they did that because they know I am trying to get my surgery in before school starts back up. It might depend on your insurance. My bariatric coordinator is extremely knowledgeable about my insurance company. She said they process a lot of claims through BCBS.

Waiting on approval from BCBS of IL
I'm a teacher too (in NC) and finally have my surgery date! I'm set up for Aug 3. It's cutting it close but I'm going to make it work!

The call I've been waiting for!
I'm going through Central Carolina Surgery. I'll be having the surgery at Moses Cone!

The call I've been waiting for!
It only took a few days to get approval. I think they actually scheduled the surgery before getting the approval... but I'm not positive. I hope yours goes quickly! Where are you having the surgery?

Multi-Disciplinary Surgical Prep Regimen
I'm having lap band next month. I'm super excited and ready to go! I had to travel about 40 minutes to the nearest surgeon and all the people I used were near the surgery center. My travel wasn't as long but they worked hard at getting multiple appointments on the same day so I didn't have to make as many trips. Maybe if you explain your situation they will be able to help you.

One month until surgery date!
I just got my date today... August 3. I'm worried about transitioning into new eating habits while starting a new school year.

The call I've been waiting for!
I have a surgery date! I'm scheduled for August 3rd. I have felt like I was standing on the edge of anxiety while I have been waiting. As soon as I got the call it was instant nervous... but like nervous on steroids!

I go Monday for a meeting with a nutritionist. I was under the impression they would be giving me a list of foods I could eat.

Multi-Disciplinary Surgical Prep Regimen
Do you have a surgeon already? I didn't have to do as many things as you list but the bariatric coordinator at the surgery center had people for all my insurances requirements.

Woman question!
It's been my observation that larger women have larger boobs. Apparently, clothing creators have noticed too, because the bust in most shirts/swimsuits/etc has been large. I've NEVER experienced boob growth as I've gained weight. I have always been a B. I'm wondering/hoping that I'll retain a B since the girls haven't grown! Anyone experienced that?

PCP rant!
I think you will feel better with a new PCP. It's important that you feel comfortable with your doc so you don't put off calling them if you have an issue. I love my PCP! He was the first doctor to ever talk about my weight. To me, that meant that he cared. I sat on the fence about surgery for a really long time. He was patient, supportive and honest

Nervous, Nervous, Nervous. ..
Yay! I'm so happy for you!

So I've noticed...
I haven't noticed it yet as I am pre-op still but I have wondered about it. Since beginning the process of bariatric surgery, I've noticed how people interact with me. A few months ago it really stood out. I was ordering the food and the guy who took the order very politely. However, the lady behind me? He engaged in full on conversation! Asking how she was, if she was having a good day, etc. It kinda hurt.

How Did You Decide On A Goal Weight?
I don't have a specific goal yet. My PCP and surgeon are ok with that. I've stated, to both, that I have some sizes in mind- size 12 or smaller and they both think that will be no problem. Conversations with the psychiatrist were different. He helped me realize that I won't be happy unless I'm under 200 and he thinks I will probably be happy around 150. It's been so long since I have seen any number that starts with a 1, I might pass out! It will be ok though, at that weight, the paramedics will be able to lift me then

Fat Related Routines You Won't Miss
Best thread ever! I'm not going to miss -the exhaustion of carrying around over 100 lbs of excess fat -sweating -being afraid I'll break a chair or a bench -lifting parts of my body to wash/dry/powder underneath I'm looking forward toy son and students being able to wrap their arms around me when they hug me -I'm a teacher and my son goes to my school. As both a parent and a teacher, my biggest fear is having a situation at school and not being able to get my kids out safely. Earlier this year, I realized if we had a fire and had to go out the window instead of the door, I'm not sure I would get through the window. I'm NOT going to miss that fear!

Surgery day
I think it depends on the surgery and how well you recover. Right now, my surgeon and I plan on me going home the day of surgery. However, I also have a back up plan if I need to stay.

What did your breast's do?
I'm in your department! I wear a B too and I so don't want to get smaller! I'm hoping that since my girls stayed the same size as I gained weight, that they will stay the same size as I lose weight!

How long for insurance approval?
Thanks for the encouragement! How has recovery been for you?

How long for insurance approval?
I would head back to work in about 7 weeks time... but the first week of that would be without kids. The doctors office knows that I'm hoping to do it in july/ early august. One of my friends had bypass on August 1 of last summer and she didn't miss any work. Have you had your surgery?
