Thank you so much! I like that saying a lot, it's so frustrating. I just wanna do this so I can be healthy. I was never this heavy. I started packing on the pounds after my dad died then I got diagnosed with h pylori and polycystic ovary syndrome. Now I just hate going out cause I'll have to feel gross in cloths. She said she wanted the surgery too but stopped when she found out she couldn't eat and drink at the same time!

Don't let the nurses random UNKIND words get to you. You will be healthier, you will be happier AND IF you should have some excess skin - you will deal with it
You are 27....I'm 44....You have youth on your side skin wise, so that's a plus! If a little saggy skin will mean I can live longer and be happier then so be it.
If I need a skin surgery or two later....then maybe I'll have it done, maybe not.

Well, when people see my before and afters they tell me i look WAY younger now and I am 51! Yes, you will have some excess skin blah blah blah.... but... trust me when I tell you all that is WAY better than morbid obesity.
I had my sleeve almost 4 years ago and am so glad I did it.

@caprice this lady seriously said that to you? What a jerk. She's a nurse and is supposed to help and encourage. Try not to let people get to u. I'm not one that let's people get to me. When you feel this way jump on and talk to us about it. People are going to be mean. This nurse is probably jealous that she can take control of her life like you have. I have a saying that I would love to share with you- "ignore the noise". All negative thoughts, things, and mean things people say just ignore it and keep your eye on the prize. Congrats on losing that 10 pounds!! Awesome start!!

I'm supposed to be sleeved next month. I'm 27, my highest weight is 253 I lost 10 pounds as requested I'm 243 .. A nurse told me today after surgery down the road after I loose weight, and I'll be saggy and my face will age badly. ????

So today was my last appt with mental health, she gave me the clearance as I lost the 10 pounds needed (how I did that I'll never know) also she was telling me to save my money now cause girls my age (27) wanna get there boobs down cause of the sagging, she also said to be very afraid of saggy skin. I know why I want this , I know I wanna be healthy have more energy look amazing for my wedding next year and carry a baby (I have pcos) but from one point of view I'm on board ready for surgery tomorrow but the other half of me is like this 2 week liquid diet will suck, I'll be in so much pain, I'll have saggy boobs and skin I'll never be able to eat again
Maybe I'm just freaking out cause surgery is next month? No mean comments please!

This post is so full of bullshit, I don't even know where to start.....

Starting get kind scared :/.
I'm still really early in the journey,my seminar is this Sat. I guess I'm just afraid ill regret this and loose who Iam. What if I don't loose any weight? What will I do with all this spare time i'll have not going to restaurants and cooking. How many people have major sickness/discomfort/ weakness for a extended time after surgery? I'm worried about being able to take care of my two yeay old.I'm also worried ill be grumpy with her. I'm like afarid ill become more unlikabable. Idk I'm just afraid of who ill become after the surgery. Sorry for the rant everyone I guess I just need to talk it out. If you made it this far thank you for taking the time.

Well. . I'm not preggo yet.. in the 1 year waiting phase. .. but starting having regular cycles after losing 20 lbs during pre op liquid diet. ..I'm now down 80 lbs from HW... and regular. ..I know when "Aunt Flo" us coming to town and she hasn't missed the bus yet....so I can't wait for the green light from my dr.... I'm 2 months post-op.

I waited a Yr! Lol JK..I say it was 2 to 3 weeks without "activity", the rest was fair game....Im going on my 5 Month Surgiversary on the 20th and its been Great!

As soon as the thought of someone putting pressure on your sore stomach doesn't make you want to punch them in the face....yep I'm going with that.

Ladies after surgery did you loose your boobs? Sorry if this is TMI. I'm just new to this and started my pre op doctors appointment.

It's great that you are trying some of the steps that will take place after surgery. Most of us before surgery have struggled on diets and exercise.We have seen the yo yo effect of weight loss then gains over and over. With bariatric surgery I looked at food differently and felt satisfied. food no longer ruled my world. Just know the changes you make with the surgery will become your new normal. My behaviors before surgery put me in a place where I was not living my life the way I wanted. Making changes both physically and mentally with bariatrics is so worth it.
I have a sleeve. Understand I can eat what ever I want. I have had to make a choice. My food addictions and bad habits. Or to make changes to get healthy to live and enjoy life. I am at goal. Yes I can have a treat now and then. But I know I have to workout even harder to not see the scale reflect that food choice. With the sleeve you do not get dumping syndrome. Some of the other surgery types will get dumping syndrome after eating sugar.
I had my doubts before surgery if I was strong enough to be successful. You have a lot of support on bariatricpal. Try not to think of the never going to be able to do.....and think of all the things you can get back in life if you are willing to make changes.

After surgery your stomach can only hold 4ozs, does that mean you can only drink 4ozs at a time as well? How can someone get in all the required Proteins with that little consumption?
I am really concerned about Hair loss. Being fat is one thing but being fat AND bald as a woman = too much to bear!
