    - Clothes shopping. Almost nobody makes really cute, affordable clothes in 3x
    - Eating the same things regularly. I used to get so bored but now I like knowing I can depend on certain foods to make up my macros and get me the nutrients I need to feel energized.

I love living life. I'm able to do so many more things that I could not do Pre-op. I'm up for trying anything. I have to laugh at myself for making up for lost time.

@@Babbs You should try edamame spaghetti. I was a Pasta person too, and I have also done the zucchini thing and spaghetti squash, but this stuff is pasta! (Okay, it's almost pasta! ) I put an Amazon link below, but I get it at costco for nearly half the Amazon price.

Sorry to interrupt, please return to the original topic. I just get excited about sharing the Pasta love!

    Zucchini noodles!
I was a Pasta fanatic pre surgery. I couldn't imagine not having it. But the "Zoodles" have been an amazing substitute!
I also hated green Beans. Now post surgery, I love them! Yay!

I love walking just for the sake of getting outside. It's no longer a sweaty, outdoor punishment for past over indulgences.
I love mud runs even though I don't like getting dirty.
I love climbing trees. (At my age!?!?)
I love slipping on a pair of skinny jeans and tall boots (BASIC!!) and buttoning them easily.

I love being able to eat just one... or a half of one!!
    There's nothing NOT to love!

So I thought this would be an interesting topic, especially for the pre-ops. What have you learned to love since WLS?
    I've learned to love:
    - Apple with Peanut Butter (I never understood the pair before, but serves as a decent replacement for PB & J sandwich)
    - Spaghetti w/out the noodles (I add a tablespoon of ricotta and mozzarella)
    - Burger without the bun, or a sandwich without bread. (Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers etc take their place)
    - Running, never thought I'd run voluntarily but I do.
So what have you learned to love?

Isn't it a great feeling to finally be scheduled! I'm scheduled for exactly one week after you 12/14/15, I'm also pretty scared of the liquid diet BUT...It'll be nothing compared to the first few months after surgery. The journey is going to be SO WORTH the destination of true health. Congratulations!!

    Hello Everyone,
I spoke to my surgical coordinator yesterday and my surgery is set for Monday, December 7th. Looks like I'll be celebrating the night before at my sister in laws bridal shower with the liquid diet

So your husband knows you are 3 weeks out from VSG surgery.....throwing up once a day.......and takes you to a brewery and gets you a beer to "sit there" with ????????
Oh yeah.....you should flip the script on him and pull some type of ghost pepper chili stunt and sneak it into his food.
Once he recovers from the heat/pain/gastric torment.......tell him that was thanks for dragging you through the same.

Two things I packed that were lifesavers were: a small travel pillow to brace against my sore tummy
And mouthwash. I took Biotene which is a moisturizing mouthwash, but I am sure any type would help. One of the above posters said Listerine helped her. It does keep the horrible dry mouth at bay.
    Good luck on you surgery

chapstick, a comb or brush, undies, socks, and just wear home what you wore there. Keep it lite, you're not going to be there long, and while you're there, all you will want to do is sleep, when you're not up walking.

The one thing I was very thankful for was Listerine. They ask all patients to use it prior to surgery (ie. less chance of bacteria being pushed down your throat from your mouth if you use an antiseptic mouth-wash - makes sense!), so I had it with me. My leak/swallow test was the next morning. My mouth/throat was on FIRE from dryness, it was horrible! I would rinse with Water, and it helped for only 2-3 minutes. However, when I rinsed with Listerine, it relieved the dryness for a good 30 minutes or so. It was wonderful!
Also, water-mix. I do not like plain Water, so I carried my own water-mix to put in my water. Helped me get water in more easily.
