Hello Everyone, I spoke to my surgical coordinator yesterday and my surgery is set for Monday, December 7th. Looks like I'll be celebrating the night before at my sister in laws bridal shower with the liquid diet

I got the call from Cigna that I've been approved for gastric bypass. I'm so excited! I cannot wait to find out when I'll be scheduled for surgery. ☺️

Congrats on having a successful surgery Sean! I'll def. be keeping up with your WLS journey on YT.

I called my insurance (Cigna) for a status update and the rep told me the pre certification dept. said I will definitely have an answer by tomorrow. I think I'm more nervous about this part of the process than the actual surgery itself. I am praying I am approved so that I can start a new chapter in my life! How did you all feel at this point in your WLS journey?

Hello Friends! Today all my paperwork was submitted to the insurance. Surgical coordinator said I should be hearing from her in a week. I think waiting for approval and the moment before surgery is the most nerve wrecking. Nonetheless I'm hopeful for a positive outcome. How soon did you all hear from your insurance? And what was the most nerve wrecking moment for you? - V

Hello! My name is Vanessa. I am in the process of getting approved for Gastric Bypass Surgery. It's been quite the emotional roller coaster but everyone's pre and post op stories truly motivate and help me stay hopeful. Though I don't have a surgery date (have to wait for all my paperwork to be submitted to insurance after my last PCP appt. next month) If approved I think I will be getting my surgery late Nov. sometime in Dec. The pre op process is so stressful. Time is not in my favor simply because my insurance will cover the surgery 100% (since I've met my deductibles for the yr) flipside? I would have to be approved before Dec. 31 because new enrollment period starts Jan 1. I have a huge "to do" list, however, I am the type of person that when faced with a challenge I plan and give 110% so that the end results is a reflection of my efforts. With that said I will do everything within my possibilities to comply with everything that is asked of me. Just hoping and most importantly praying that after all my paperwork is submitted mid Nov. my insurance reviews and approves my surgery. I cannot wait to share with you my pre op and one day my post op progress. With love, Vanessa! ❥
