leuqar76 got a reaction from doubledinfla in Days off
One i learned from my career and I am a social worker. Work do not care about you. If you die at work they will roll you over and fill your position with another person, whom they can find very easily. Don't think that you are most important to them, you are still important to you. That's my soap box for today.

And also keep in mind that the hospital usually let u know in the discharge paperwork the first 10 days after discharge is the most critical. You are at risk for blood clots and strokes. U don't know how your body will react. If you get signed off for 4 weeks and feel better in two weeks then you can go back to work with your doctor signing off on the fitness for duty.

leuqar76 got a reaction from _Kate_ in Days off
I have a desk job where I sit at a computer all day long. It's very stressful. Many days I am shuffling between buildings for meetings. To keep my sanity and heal, I was able to be signed off for 4 weeks. I used FMLA to keep my job and getting paid from my disability insurance. It's your money. My wife and I saved ahead of time to be sure we had a month worth of bills saved in the bank. I will say that at 2 weeks I felt myself. But glad I took the time off I was able to relax go to support groups and focus on me. I know the talk about the sleeve even my doctor said his wife went back to work 4 days later. However it is abdominal surgery, major surgery. It takes 6 to 8 weeks for the belly to fully heal per my nutritionist

Your pain level does not sound right at all. Call your surgeon ASAP. Get it checked out!

leuqar76 reacted to kmd0235 in Butterfinger Milkshake
So, not exactly, but if you're still on liquids like me and sick to death of the same ol' shakes, I concocted this today for something different and it kind of reminded me of a Butterfinger milkshake: blend together a vanilla Protein Shake (I used Premier), some SF chocolate Syrup (I used Hershey's), a tablespoon of PB2 and some ice. Voila. Something different.

leuqar76 reacted to judyoz in Crossing your legs
I have been fat all my life. Never have been able to cross my legs like a lady. I can and always have been able to sit crossed leg though. I am hoping in the future I can just sit like a lady, instead of just at the ankles ! LOL

leuqar76 got a reaction from grandmaofone in June 15 sleeve and feeling awesome!
That is a great plan. Rewarding yourself is important

leuqar76 reacted to wascott in Cranky sleeve: need some advice please
My nutritionist told me to introduce new foods slowly one at a time. If a new food isn't tolerate then back off for a few more days before trying again. I'm only on day 2. Having a rough enough time getting liquids in while fighting nausea. The tiniest of air bubbles in my new tummy makes me nauseous. Gook luck!

leuqar76 reacted to Menelly in How did you guys survive a two week clear liquid diet?
I only had to do 3 days. I would have gone insane. I'm on full liquids now and am already bored. LOL
