What does "full" feel like
Full feels very different post-op. Once you move to more solid foods you should feel it. But it's not in your tummy anymore -- instead it's at the top of my stomach / lower esophagus. I can only eat 4 or 5 bites before feeling an uncomfortable pressure in my chest. I also get the hiccups when I eat too much or too fast. I am very grateful for my restriction -- almost 7 months out and down 92 lbs.

Birth control
My surgeon said I needed a second form of birth control post surgery because pill would no longer be as effective.

I haven't told any one!
Only my live-in BF knows, am a very private person.

Post op woman on the pill question
FYI -- The pill is unreliable after bariatric surgery, your surgeon should have advised that you use a second form of birth control. Once I learned that, I stopped taking the pill entirely.

Whats Possible? 43 y/o, F, 5'6 280lbs, medium build
Sleeved 11/5/2015, age = 45, height = 5'9, HW 292, SW 274, CW 211. Down 81 lbs in almost 6 months and thrilled with my progress so far!

Help Me!
Am 45 - was sleeved 11/2015 and also apple-shaped. Height 5'9, HW 292, SW 274, CW 212. Have been losing slower than some people but am really happy with my progress so far -- my stomach is soooooo much smaller and I haven't had any issue with loose/saggy skin there (yet). Now have saggy-ish underarms, but I can live that that!

Must decide ASAP if I am going to tell my mom or not!
Age 45, 5 months post-op & have not told my mom (she does not live nearby). She would not have been supportive and it would have totally stressed me out. You're doing this for your own health and well-being. We cannot expect everyone else to understand or expect their positive support. Once someone is told they cannot be "un-told." Do what your gut tells you - you know your relationships best!

Anyone not telling anyone about their surgery?
I told nobody except my live-in BF. I'm extremely private and prefer not to discuss health issues. I told work I needed to have surgery (they can't ask what kind) and took 2 weeks PTO. I was worried about having to answer a bunch of questions from friends & family but it's amazing how little people seem to pay attention to what I'm eating when out to dinner, etc. Only waitstaff seem concerned and I usually say "I had a big lunch" or "I'm looking forward to yummy leftovers for lunch tomorrow." And even though I've lost almost 75 lbs in 5 months nobody seems shocked nor asks a lot of questions. I would advise newbies to be very selective with whom you tell, because you can't un-tell afterwards and there is no guarantee that folks won't be concerned, etc. We have lived most of our lives battling weight issues and we are the ones that have done the extensive research -- others who are not in the same position may simply not understand our choice.

My 4 MONTH Post-Op Progress Report
Many, many congrats! You are doing so awesome! I was sleeved on 11/5 and am down 71 lbs to date. I haven't tracked my stats as well as you, but am feeling much better too! And loving the compliments that have finally starting coming...

Need to rant
NOT cool! This is major surgery -- you will not feel well enough to entertain after just 3 days post-op PLUS you have the right to your privacy. If there is no way out of hosting the fam, I would see about postponing the surgery for a week so you can properly focus on your recuperation and health.

I am just so angry!
Not sure when you had surgery, but I found myself to be unreasonably angry over small things for the couple of months post-surgery too (almost like PMS). I also didn't get a period for 3+ months, so chalked it all up to hormonal changes, etc. Am def not feeling those irrational issues any more...

No period?!
I didn't have a period for 3+ months after getting sleeved. Thought I was going into early-ish menopause (am 45). But my period did come back -- and very heavy!
