What is up with this?
What is up with this? I know that right now my restriction is ok and I guess at a good level because I can have a meal and not make it through all the way or something gets stuck and I quit eating...the normal business. But today for some reason I couldn't get all of my lunch down which was a small piece of meatloaf and a small helping of mashed potatos and then I got the munchies and I have had about 4 of those popcorn cakes... . Is it because of the texture of the foods that makes the difference in how easy it goes down? Just curious. Does anyone else experience this? AND I don't really feel full...:phanvan But I know that I don't need a fill yet.

Ziploc Omelettes
ZIPLOC OMELETTES (This works great !!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet !!!) Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling Water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.

The biggest reason why I'm glad I got a band rather than RNY
I have a friend who has had the Gastric Bypass (2 weeks prior to my surgery) and she looks great! She went from 250 to 150 in less than a year and is in a size 10 but she did have major complications afterwards and to me she is losing way too fast. I know some people who have that surgery can get dark circles under their eyes and a lot more loose skin than those of us who have had the band which is a slower process for weight loss. To me the biggest reason was because of the ability to reverse this surgery and you couldn't the bypass. It just seemed safer to me and gave me more than one option.

Reaction to Chinese food!! - - Help!!
I love Chinese food!!! At least once a week we go! I took my son the other day and all I had was a bowl of Won Ton soup...yummy! And I have also had their seafood soup which contains fish, shrimp, mussels, octopuss (did not eat!!) and veggies like cabbage and carrots....it was so good!!! As far as any other dishes...I have tried any veggie stir-fry and tofu. I love edamame!!! Those are so good and healthy for you. No egg rolls, fried food or white rice (brown only) and sometimes I will follow with a hot tea (good for the soul) No eating the fortune cookie...just read it! I think alot of the restaurants are moving towards a MSG-free menu but always ask.

What's the deal with chicken?
I can tolerate chicken on occasion. I bought KFC for the family the other night and I was eating a little beans and mashed potatos and I the beans got stuck What? I have never had a problem with beans! So, then I nibbled on the potatos and gravy...that was fine...after awhile I went back to the kitchen and grab a chicken breast and to my surprise :nono: I was able to eat it! :hungry: Holy cow! That was the best chicken I have ever had!!!!! :clap2: Now I tried some tuna fish the other day and I put mayo and salt and pepper....I drained it but not totally dry and it still got stuck....so I am swearing off tuna!!! :faint: And I do go slow and chew really well but tuna just does not agree with my band at all!!!!

Ab Lounge
I have one and absolutely LOVE IT!!!!! It is so easy to use and a hell of alot better then getting on the floor to do them. Great on your back too! If you watch the video and do them right you can get results. Doing mine tonight! I have reached the point where I can increase my number of crunches. I started at around 20 a set and that includes regular crunches, jack knife crunches and doing the side abs...so that's 80 a session and now I can get up to 30-35 a set. It's really fun and you can feel the burn on this machine! And the slower and longer you hold the position the bigger the burn! :omg: But it's a good burn! So put yours together and get to it!

Cold Stone Creamery
I have to admit...I just had ColdStone about an hour ago and it was good!!! I had the small serving of the cinnamon flavored ice cream with a little pecan....Did I feel guilty? A little. But do I work out? Yes. I am so not going to deprive myself from something I rarely get to have to begin with. I don't think anyone should. I think it is ok as long as you don't over do it!

Prozac Anyone?
I actually take Prozac in the liquid form...ask your pharmacist to call the prescribing doctor for persmission to switch it...that simple. It doesn't taste very good though...I usually chase it with some water or a mint. I did the powder in the pudding and it was so bad!

I went to Dr. Roizen's website for his Real Age test and found out that I am really only 35...not bad! I guess changing alot of what I do can make a difference! I did the test a few years ago and I know it was way higher than that!!! www.realage.com

American Idol
In the season 1 they had one week where they had to sing songs that were considered from the WWII/Swing Era...And I remember Kelly Clarkson doing an awesome job with it and it was fun too and she dressed the part. They need a different style of song to sing but I think the only one that could handle it would be Katharine. I wsa glad to see Paris go though...the show is a bit too big for her.

Did anyone watch Oprah on Monday?
Finally got to watch Oprah on my TiVo last night and Monday's show was so great....did anyone else see it? I love Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen and I would love for them to come to my house and clean out my pantry!!! After seeing it I started looking at my pantry and reading the labels and OMG!!! :faint: I would need to clean it out too!!! It is unreal how what you think is "good" for you really isn't and the food companies "fool" you into thinking that it is. And then watching the bypass surgery made MY heart race! It was so intense when he couldn't get her heart to beat again!!! I have that book at home and have I read it yet? NO! Do I need to? Yes!! And I will because that show scared the hell out of me. And everything that he says to eat that are good for you I actually like and could do it..I just have to get myself motivated to change and do it!!! I love spinach, salmon, tomato, raw nuts, etc... So I think I am going to try to do some of the things that they talked about doing to be a little healthier. I am 33 and I bet my real age is probably 45! So, I am going to get out my book and get to reading!!!

Good Band - Fast (Home or Restruant) Food Ideas
I went on a trip in February and took some Special K bars and snack bites with me...Chex cereal is also an idea for a snack with or without milk (Frosted Chex is awesome) or any dry cereal (1/2 sugar ones are great). I eat alot of soups (as we type!) and they are just easier...the Soup-at-Hand are great for in the car and on the go. Yogurt smoothies are good for the car. Take a banana in the car with you too. I have problems with meats and Mexican restaurants I usually have the Tortilla or bean soups and whatever soups they serve at Italian restaurants. Salads are easy too. Hope this helps!

I hate it when..
I hate it when DH farts in public and blames our 6 year old daughter!!! Oh he is fronted out in front of everyone!!!! Trust me!!! :angry I hate it when people ask if my tattoos hurt when I got them! Hell yes it hurts!!!! It is a group of needles going into your skin REALLY fast pushing ink into your skin!!! duh. :grouphug: And then I hate it when people think that just because I am wearing a tank top and my back is showing that they can come up behind me and try to pull my shirt down to look at my whole tattoo. :rolleyes Hands off people!!!! Ask me first...:angry
