Protein Powders ?
Wow I just looked at the Syntrax website and they are EXPENSIVE. Mainly because I hate to spend so much before I know I will like it. Does anyone know where you can get test packs?

Dare I Ask?
- How sick am I really?
My EKG was fine but a PET Scan showed and Abnormality and I ended up getting heart stints!- I was all geared up...
Your weight looks like you should be good for the BMI, don't you have any co-morbidities?- Finally! Onederland!
Congrats!- pleae help stricture and very scared
Can you explain to me what they mean by stricture?- Guilt or taking responsiblity?
I have thought a lot about why I am fat and how I got fat and so on and so on and it really comes down to this. Yes... I was born a poor white child.....not on assistance but very close. My parents had all they could do to keep us fed and clothed. Being poor was probably what saved me from being fat as a kid and teenager. The parents did control what was in the house to eat and I had no money to sneak and buy crap. However they had no control of me once I got knocked up and married at 17. From that minute on I was the one that got to decide what food went into my mouth and usually I picked anything that was sweet and carby. I was a kid. My hubby and I were poor too but instead of making money saving good choices. I generally chose to shove candy and crap into my mouth. Then I whined and cried about being fat. Over a period of 25 years I went form 127 to 325. I have lost the same 100 lbs at least 6 times and the failure is always mine. I guess if I blame anyone for my failure it is the advertising world because you can't watch tv, read a magazine or drive the streets without being accosted by some luscious looking high fat item that is easily affordable and leaves me hungry 2 hours later. I have been on a somewhat low carb diet now for 6 months and even though I know how to eat there are days that I think of food to much of the time and mostly bad food. In the end, the choice is mine. I am now 62 and fat and worried about being a burden on my husband and children. I want to be healthier and I can't be that and be 300 lbs. I have to do something and I am hoping this gastric sleeve will be my back up on my weak days.- Drivers license
I just had to renew my license due to a change of address and I was telling my husband how much I hated the picture (because it looks like me). I then told him that it would be a good test for after surgery because I will be able to see the change.- Need a Giggle?
Years ago, I went for a gynecology exam and while I was in the stirrups the Dr. (male) peeled a penny off the back of my thigh and said. I am sorry but this exam is worth more than a penny. I must have sat on the penny in the car and never knew it was stuck to my leg. I was so embarrassed.- Quick Coffee Question
@@Coffeeguy My husband has a T-shirt that says " Instant Human, Just add Coffee"- Surgery on Wed - PCP Won't Clear Me
My Cardiologist made me take a Chemical Stress test before he would talk about clearing me. Low and behold he saw something that made him uncomfortable so he strongly urged me to have a heart catheter to check this out. Sure enough I had to stints placed on August 28th. One was in the artery that they call the widow maker. I was disappointed that I was sidetracked for a while but very happy I listened to him. Now I have finished all my other insurance requirement and we are trying to schedule me for Jan 26th which is 5 months from the time of stints. I will have to quit taking my blood thinners for a week. I have my fingers crossed for you. No matter what happens you probably should find a PCP that you are more compatible with for the long haul.- Drum Roll Please...I just heard that I am approved by insurance!
@walkinggirl We need to keep track of each other and compare notes! @kdelrosso I am dreading the 2 week diet, I hear it is hard.- LOW BMI (27), APPROVED, having second thoughts.. HELP
I agree that I am shocked that they would approve you for the surgery at that BMI and weight. I would not have the surgery for 40 pounds but that's just me.- Drum Roll Please...I just heard that I am approved by insurance!
My insurance has approved me and I have chosen the date of January 26th to get my surgery done. That will be 5 months from the time I got my heart stints and I still have to wait for the cardiologist to approve but I am pretty sure he will! Now I can actually get excited and start the countdown to what should be a life changing decision. I guess I have to go make me a countdown ticker!!!! I have decided that just before surgery I am going to have my husband take his most unflattering picture and that way I will have it to compare with a year from now.- Since my doc gave me a "gift", I gave her one too...
That was a creative idea. Love it- Finished my 6 month supervised today! 38 lbs lost
@@ssflbelle That would be fine with me. It does help when you have someone that is going through some of same issues. I will send you my email via messaging.- I'm bummed, y'all. So bummed.
They are always looking for our inner demons aren't they? One of my insurance counselors never fails to ask if I have ever felt severely depressed or have I ever considered hurting myself. The answer is HELL YES, Haven't we all? That makes us normal. If not, you are not living in this world. The trick is persevering and getting through depression and controlling anger! I am sending you good wishes and just keep strong. You're gonna make it.- Finished my 6 month supervised today! 38 lbs lost
I went in for my last nutritionist visit this morning and I was surprised to find I had lost another 5 1/2 pounds. That makes a total loss of 38 and I am very excited about that. I was very commited and I think that shows. I think they will be submitting my plan to insurance in the next couple of days and I can't imagine why they would deny me. However, even if they approve it I will probably be waiting till late January or early Feb for the surgery because I have to be released by my heart Dr. because of my blood thinners. No matter what I intend to keep going with my eating plan just like I am going to a nutritionist. It is a lifestyle change after all!- Big guy needing new mattress......suggestions on what's working for you......
One thing I would like to add is that if you are snugglers the King size sleep number isn't the best motivater. Ours is so wide we barely touch but even if we wanted to it is hard because his side is higher than my side. He says I sleep in a trench.- Big guy needing new mattress......suggestions on what's working for you......
My husband and I have a sleep number bed and we have had it for a good 10 years. It works for us because we are VERY different. I am a 35 sleep number and he is an 85! So obviously we would not be happy on a regular bed. At 85 his side feels like a board to me so if you put it on 90 or 95 I can't even imagine. I always sit on his side to put on my shoes. Today they sell a sleep number that is adjustable where you can raise the head or foot so you might want to check into that.- Last day off before returning to work. Any suggestions ?
I haven't had my surgery yet but one of the things I am hoping for is that I can get rid of some of my daily medications. The problem is that I will have to replace them with Vitamins - How sick am I really?
