  1. I wonder why that would be? Did he say why? What is your starting weight?
  2. I like the idea of trying to use vanilla shake instead of sugar and cream. How is that working?
  3. Do you think its these? Opurity? opurity.com
  4. Good luck, can't wait to hear the details!
  5. I haven't had surgery yet and won't for another month but I have been trying to hang on to my 38 pound loss and keep hold of my good eating habits. Did anyone else find themselves having the same issue I had? I started on Christmas Eve with great intentions. We purchased a ham and I made dressing for tradition and an apple pie. I knew I would have some of everything and didn't buy a bunch of extra sweets and goodies to tempt me. Christmas went perfect, there was just enough excitement and it was a beautiful day and we kept busy. I ate what I expected to eat and it was a happy day. The day after Christmas is when things started to unfold. My problem is that I find out that I am a boredom grazer. Even though we didn't have much in the house to pig out on, I still found myself checking the fridge for something to snack on. I picked at the ham, pickles, left over pie, etc. I wasn't hungry but I kept picking. When I am bored and stay home I tend to graze and eat things when I am not even hungry. Of course this is how I got myself into this shape in the first place. The thing is I didn't eat a ton compared to what I would have normally eaten but I did eat to much and I knew I was eating to much. It just confirms the fact that much hunger is in your head and that we need to listen to the stomach and not the head. I ended up being overly full, afraid to get on the scale and ashamed that I ate more than I should have.
  6. You look amazing and amazingly different. I love seeing pictures of someone in basically the same position, same type clothes because it actually lets you see the real change. I am sure you can't get enough of people giving you the thumbs up. I hope I am able to have the follow through and results like this.
  7. The PET scan is really to make sure that the 2 stints I received on August 28th are functioning properly and that I have good blood flow. I feel good so I am hoping that is an indication that they stints are working! If he sees that they are he will send a release to my Surgeon and I will be able to have my surgery on Jan 26th! I will just be glad to get the scan over with. Then I can start my count down in earnest.
  8. So far I am not super nervous because I have to have a heart scan on Jan 4th so that my cardiologist will release me. Because of this I am trying to stay calm, but the time is moving quickly and I get a little more excited each day.
  9. Well, the title says....GOFUNDME ACCOUNTS ??? To me that is a question and a question is seeking answers and most answers are opinions. IMO Personally I would never give to a GFM account because as some have said, you could actually be funding a drunk, stay at home, dead beat dad. You have no idea what sob stories people think up to scam for money. If someone wants to start up a GFM account, more power to them, but I personally wouldn't fund someone like that. I give locally where I have a better shot of knowing where my money goes. I work to hard for it to just give it to someone online.
  10. I have been using the multi Vitamin patch for about 2 months in anticipation of surgery. I will be having lab work done on the 8th of Jan and I am anxious to see what my results will be.
  11. I have been doing so well and even turned my back on Christmas Cookies at work but just last night I ate half of a Mrs. Prindables caramel apple. OMG. I take solace in the fact that I haven't been sleeved yet but I am suppose to be practicing and that would be considered a fail.
  12. I don't even own pajama bottoms but I might consider a pair because I hate working about my butt hanging out.
  13. @katladee I love the Pointer Sisters and I am scheduled for Jan 26th also!
  14. This is actually the biggest fear I have. I already have thin hair on the top caused by lack of hormone therapy after my hysterectomy years ago and I really can't afford to lose anymore or you will definitely be looking at my scalp! I hate the thought of taking more crap orally. I also do not look good in wigs. You guys cross your fingers for me please.
  15. @@KristaSilliman I can totally relate to the frozen coke fix. That was my go to treat almost every night before I started my low carb diet to get ready for surgery. Coca Cola was one of my addictions but I gave them up to lose weight. The problem is that most addicts replace one addiction with another. Now my new thing is Diet Cherry Limeade!
  16. Glad to hear everything went ok for you. You must keep us updated on how your doing with your intake. What you are able to take in and what we might expect too!
  17. I am scheduled for Jan 26th for surgery and although I do want to lose about 100 pounds, I am actually hoping to do it in a slower more controlled fashion. I am 62 and have been heavy for a long time, so I know my skin elasticity is going to suck. I am hoping that losing more slowly will give my skin a chance to shrink better. You have done great and I would just enjoy the benefits and not worry about others.
  18. There are no bad answers above but I would also call your current surgeons office and tell them you are desperate to get this done ASAP. Let them know you may see if someone can see you sooner and that might encourage them to work you in quicker. If that doesn't get you acceptable answers you might call another surgeons office that is in your network and just ask them what their scheduling looks like and how they would work with your situation. Asking questions won't hurt. If all else fails, get it done in February. I am having mine on Jan 26th (fingers crossed) and we can go through it together.
  19. Glad you are a prolific poster because it helps all of us that have gotten there yet. I think you are doing great and can't wait to hear more. Congrats on your new tummy.
  20. Thanks guys for not making me feel like I shouldn't even be thinking of a traditional Christmas breakfast. The truth is, this is going to be our lives forever and we have to learn moderation everyday but that doesn't mean food prison for life. Thanks for the support.
  21. I am in the Kerrville area, near San Antonio
  22. Thanks guys, this is what I am thinking. On Thanksgiving I ate a little cheat but ate 1/3 of what I would normally have eaten. I didn't even cook most of the things we would have eaten. I plan on doing that for Christmas too. We are going to have ham and some kind of steamed vegetables and for my husband some dressing. Our dessert will be fruit salad.
  23. Good luck! I hope its easy for you.
  24. At this time I have not been sleeved and won't be until Jan 26th and that's not a huge problem but I have been on my lower carb intake for about 6 months and not doing to bad I lost 38 lbs and since my nut visits are over I have really just been cruising. Not trying to lose really but certainly not wanting to gain and I have been doing fine with that. But here is my problem............................. On Christmas morning a tradition in our family is to have fresh blueberry muffins and scrambled eggs. I know that I still want to do this on Christmas morning and I feel like a couple of fattening meals on Christmas day should not be a deal breaker. I am also working a deal in my head that says I will lose anything that I gain that day on my 10 day pre-op diet! Help me out here.
  25. Welcome to the forum. People here seem to be genuinely nice and helpful. I am suppose to have my sleeve on Jan 26th but I am still pending a PET scan to clear me with the cardiologist. I am nervous, excited and tired of waiting now. I live in Texas but I am more than happy to join your support team!
