  1. Thank you so much for the support! I am heading to San Antonio right now. 5:30 am and all I want is a good cup of coffee
  2. @Kidbxrs I understand what your thinking in a way because I have had some of those same thoughts. I do think that you will definitely need to eat that way for the rest of your life to lose the weight and keep in off but I don't think that means we can never have some food we want off and on. It just has to be much more controlled than before. My surgery is tomorrow and I am nervous, but not so much about the food. Before you have surgery you really should try to come to grips with your relationship to food.
  3. I am excited and nervous and just want to share with everyone. My surgery is in San Antonio Texas tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital at 7:00 so there will probably be some down time, but its about to happen. Please everyone put in a prayer for me! I am not a youngster so I really don't expect it to be easy. Just as long as I make it through it and lose some good weight I am happy. Thanks ya'll for letting me yammer!
  4. I was 83% and that's not bad
  5. @@Rhodes Nope in fact I think your crazy to have surgery to lose 40 lbs but that's just me.
  6. They never use your CPAP during a surgery, the CPAP is only to be used for you to sleep at night and since you have never used it before you won't miss it. CPAP takes some getting use to anyway so its best that you don't get it and try to break it in at the hospital.
  7. I use to watch that show years ago but I got so sick of the closeup (cry for the camera) fake scene. I have quit watching most of the REALITY show type stuff because they aren't reality. There is no reality TV if you have a camera with someone standing behind it following you around. Even scene is choreographed. Then its cut and pieced together for more drama. Gag
  8. @@Miss Mac I love that idea! (but I wouldn't try that if there was any chance)
  9. I was the 3rd child and 3rd daughter to a beautiful mother. She was no DIVA but she was/is beautiful. Unfortunately the first 2 daughters took after mother and I took after my dads side that wasn't so beautiful. I was just nothing that my mom was use to dealing with or that she really related to looks wise. By the time I was 12 I was wearing her clothes at 15 I was a size larger and bustier. I had straight hair and I was bigger boned and not delicate, they were smaller, more petite and mom could relate to them. I wasn't fat as a teenager but due to the constant comparison I felt to my sisters I FELT FAT. At 16 I was 36-26-35 .But felt ugly and huge. In reality mom was never intentionally nasty to me, I don't know that she made me feel bad on purpose but she didn't know how to comfort me when I approached her with body issues because to her I was bigger. What I needed was for her to say, your right you are nothing like me or your sisters but your beautiful in different way. Even if she lied convincingly that's what I needed to hear. Unfortunately no one has ever told me that and partially because I am not beautiful, but it would be nice for someone to say I was beautiful in a way that I truly felt they meant it. I am sure she didn't realize the importance of certain phrases or lack of certain words or realize they played a part in the person I became, just as I didn't realize how some things I said and did to my kids may affect them. That's the interesting thing about life - some of us have to learn the hard way and by the time we learn it feels like we missed out, but I have learned and I intend to enjoy the rest of my life with Zest, humor and love. Just realize you are the only person you can really control so enjoy who you are and people that emotionally support you.
  10. My suggestion is just don't go back. When you start seeing another Doctor have them contact the surgeons office for a copy of all of your records. He can also request all records from the gastro.
  11. I am on day 8 of Pre-op and seem to be doing ok but on day 4 and 5 by the time I got home from work I was just dragging hiney.
  12. @MeFirst Did someone help you join our group yet?
  13. Today is my 7th day of pre-op dieting and the 1st 2 days were TOUGH, by the 3rd day though it got easier and if I keep myself busy its even better. In truth I am a boredom or stress eater. The amazing thing is that I have lots 9 pounds since I started pre-op! That is exciting but I have to figure a lot of that is Fluid. Now I am just waiting for the Doctors office to get my short term disability paperwork back to my office so I can comfortably take off the 3 weeks I want.
  14. Send your fb email address to me at my dieselgaltwc.com and I will try to find you
  15. @nikki3 Congrats! Your 13 year old must be greatly influenced by her mom trying to take care of herself. You have to take care of you, so that you will be there for them. Keep up the good work!
  16. @reinventingmyself My surgery is on the 1st of March
  17. This sounds weird to me but help me out. I am on day 3 of my pre-op diet. I get 1 shake for Breakfast, 1 shake for lunch and for dinner I get 4 oz Protein and 1-2 cups veggies. On day 2 and day 3 of my diet even though I am really hungry at lunch time, but the time I drink my shake I feel bloated for about the next 3 hours? I really hate this feeling. Do to many shakes bloat you? Is it the sweetener ?
  18. I use to ride behind my husband on his motorcycle before I became such a cow. I would like to be able to do that again with confidence. I also want to get back into dancing.
  19. This weekend I will have my last supper before pre surgery diet. I am not sure what I will have but I will cheat a little I am sure. It will probably have bread and gravy as part of it.
  20. @BobbyD Its funny that you ate all that crap and had a DIET coke
  21. That's something you really have to answer yourself. It will be hard and if you like to party and eat for fun it will really be hard. The truth is that to make it work you have to change your eating patterns and thoughts. I have had some of the same thoughts as you mention but for maybe different reasons. I have lost 60 plus pounds many times before but slowly I always let it sneak back and add to it. I am finally pulling the trigger on surgery because I hope its the tool to keep me in line when I start oozing back up. I am much older and I am just tired of carrying another adult around on my back.
  22. I am seeing my Dr. this Friday for my last Dr. visit before my surgery on March 1st. I have a few things I need to ask regarding medication I am currently taking etc. But are there things I should ask that I might overlook? I think its funny that they call it the last visit with Dr., because I actually met this Dr. 1 time 6 months ago for about 5 minutes. He doesn't really know me and I don't really know him. I had 6 months of supervised dieting which I never saw him, so the questions I have asked have all been his office assistants.
  23. We have a facebook page for march sleevers 2016 but you can't search and find it. Most of the members wanted it to be secret so it is set that way. If you would like to join please friend me on FB and I will be happy to add you to the group. On FB I am Donna North and my email is dieselgal@twc.com
