  1. I did a revision from a bad lap band to the sleeve. This has been going on for over 2 months, so I've ruled out a virus and I am 200% sure that I am not pregnant. I have another health issue that causes pregnancy to be very dangerous, so we take serious precautions. I'm starting to wonder if it's from stomach acid?
  2. Hello. I am 5 and a half months post-op (68 pounds gone!) and am having more and more trouble with nausea. Around 3 or 4 months post-op, I had a conquered the nausea and was able to go about my day with my diet with no troubles for the most part. Then we went to Disney World for 10 days, and that wrecked me. Since returning, my nausea is getting worse and worse. I take at least 2 doses of Zofran a day and wish I could take more. What could be causing this? I am very careful with my diet, not eating junk or mixing hot and cold foods/liquids, not drinking with my food, etc. Thanks in advance for any advice given. jwm
  3. I am 8 week post-op and only down 37 pounds (kind of disappointed in myself), but I have been struggling with extreme fatigue and no appetite. I have no energy to exercise and I know I am not getting my Protein in like I need to. Every whey Protein powder I can find and try tastes the same as the one before it - - nasty. I found a non-whey protein powder that body builders use that I like ok, but I am worried it will cause me to gain weight. The man at the shop swears it won't, but I don't know if I believe him. It's Nutramedz Crave Protein (mango flavor). Does anyone know if we have to use whey based powders? I have to find a way to get my protein in!! Thanks!
  4. I am almost 5 weeks out, and I know I am supposed to be eating high protein, low fat, low sugar foods. But where do carbs come in? I know too many carbs are bad, but how many are too many per meal? In 5 weeks I've lost 25 pounds, so I'm not doing too bad, but I want to make the best choices.
  5. I'm 4.5 weeks post op, and I am craving home made salsa (mine is so good!), and am assuming since it's all fresh veggies that it's a good thing for me to eat. But I am wondering if there is a tostito type chip that I can eat with the salsa that won't be a bad diet choice? I'm thinking Kim's Magic Pop wafer/chip things might work?
  6. My surgery was 7/20, and I lost weight steadily for 3 weeks and then it stopped - 22 pounds. Tomorrow is my one month post and I'm starting to feel very frustrated. I know I'm not getting my protein in as I'm having a very hard time with nausea after 3 or 4 bites of food. My physical activity is very limited because it's over 100 degress outside and my husband won't buy any indoor equipment. I'm becoming very depressed. Even without all the protein, you'd think someone only eating 400-500 calories a day would lose weight.
  7. I am one month post op, and I find this is happening to me too. I also get really nauseous with the sweating too. I've noticed it seems to happen if I eat too fast. So I have tried eating very slowly for the last couple of days and it seems to help.

    Taking Medications

My surgery was 7/20, and I quit crushing my meds a few days ago. I started with a smaller one and gave it a few minutes to see if it would go through. After that, I worked my way up to the bigger pills and all was fine.
  9. I have been told by 2 different nurses during pre-op meetings that my husband and I should use 2 forms of birth control during the first 18 months after my surgery. We do NOT need another baby at our age (and it's dangerous for me due to another health issue). I have an IUD already, so there's not much options for a second form. I'm debating using an ovulation app or something too. Has anyone else been given this advice? My band to sleeve surgery is Monday, so please keep me in your prayers if you think about it. I am quickly becoming overwhelmed with emotions and anxiety. Thanks!

    TX Buddy

I'm doing mine on Monday. I am very anxious and becoming emotioanl from the stress. I've been miserable with the band for 10 years now. But I want my life back so badly. I haven't worn a pair of shorts since 2005, and I live on the Texas coast!! It's HOT outside and I miss out on so many things because it's too hot to hide in long sleeves and jeans. While the devil puts the doubt in my head that this wil fail too, I am ready to prove him wrong.
  11. I have seen my doctor twice now, met with a nutritionist, a psychiatrist, sent and received several emails with my doctor's nurse and coordinator and no one has brought up a pre-op diet. Is this not a universal thing with surgeons? I'm worried that I've missed something now! Thanks, Janna
