    Calories and workouts

You are eating, exercising, losing, and plateauing just the same I am. I think you are right on track. About every ten pounds, I get dead stuck at same weight for about a week or maybe two, then I'll drop another 6 or 8 pounds fairly quickly. I'm probably about 1100-1300 cals per day and I am eating a bit of carbs now, mostly fruit but I take a two ounce treat a couple times a week. I walk there to five rounds of golf each week and lift light weights. As long as it keeps going down. I am down 50 lbs since June 11 sleeve.
  2. The whole bunch of you look terrific. Hard to believe same people. I hope to have similar pix some day. Three month post op and down 45 I am starting to get bank tellers looking at me sideways when they use my file pic for ID.
  3. Update. Thanks all for encouraging words. I'm six weeks out and down 29 lb since surgery. Losing about 2 or 3 lbs per week now working very hard. That is fine and my expectations are adjusted. Let me fill you in on more important stuff. I was a 13 year type 2 diabetic. I am now non-diabetic (A-1C is 5.6 with no meds.)!!! Total cholesterol is 95! Blood pressure is 100/60. Every doctor I see gives me a "high five" and cuts my meds in half every time I walk in. I actually jogged on the treadmill yesterday. I walked five rounds of golf after work last week, lifted at gym, worked in heat all weekend, and may no longer have sleep apnea. My biggest downer is that I have to throw away all my clothes. Life is good.
  4. I'm 57 and have lost only 22 lb since June 11 sleeve. I lost most of that in first two weeks. I am on program. Exercising at least 4 days a week. I have faith but it is slow.

Weight Gain After Starting Soft Foods?

Yes. Entire GI tract is empty after liquid diet. Beginning to fill 30 feet of tubing puts on some weight. Worry yee not. It comes off unless you abuse. You will do great
  6. Gosh golly batman, you look wonderful. Excellent work.

I'm stick and I'm losing hope!

I stalled after two weeks for a full week. Now a week later I'm down another 8 lb. it is body readjustment. You are fine. Panic yee not. When I feel stalled I work out a little extra to spur things along. Even when I stalled I was cutting new holes in belt so my pants don't fall. Something good is happening.

    Constipation

Miralax each day until liftoff. It can take a week postoperative.
  9. Sleeved 6/11/15. Three days pretty miserable but got off pain meds third day and off Tylenol fifth day. Surgeon let me go in pool and eat stage 2 (soft foods) after office visit on eighth day. Started with a couple tablespoons tuna with mayo. Chew it good. No problem. Then broiled thin flounder. Went back to desk job ten days out. Lost 15 pounds first eight days but have been dead stuck since then. I am still drinking Protein shakes twice a day but I can eat Soups, scrambled eggs, small amounts of cold cuts, an occasional cracker, Peanut Butter. Jello, pudding lots of Popsicles and lots of homemade broth. I am thrilled that I have had very little discomfort since third day. No nausea, no vomiting. The surgeon fixed a minor hiatal hernia too and I think it really helped. Taking meds, Vitamins, Calcium religiously. I am getting the half gallon of Water in. Played golf on foot, lifted and treadmill at gym, treadmill at home. I am 13 year well controlled type two diabetic A1C 6.4 on Metformin. Blood sugar flatlined between 80 and 120 since surgery with no diabetic meds. The dr says diabetes is "resolved" but until I start really eating I am skeptical. I don't crash though. One day I had three wontons in wonton Soup after drinking protein an hour earlier. I think I had a "dump" because I felt very uncomfortable and blood sugar jumped to 199 in 15 mins. I felt it coming on and went for a 30 brisk walk and it dropped back to 100. It was a learning experience. My carboload days are over. I think I can eat most reasonable foods but I have to chew very very well. I am keeping each real meal to three ounces max. I have not ventured into carbs more than a nibble or two. I even had a half-inch slice of pizza and that went down okay. ( no crust, maybe two normal bites). White flounder and scrambled eggs with some white cheese mixed in are my most comfortable meals. Taking everything real slow now. My big problem is that I have not lost more than 2-3 pounds in a week and my energy is gone. Tracking all calories with myfitnesspal and I am only 600-800 per day including shakes. I just did 40 mins treadmill and light weights. I am going to ramp up exercise daily and try to get this stone moving again. My incisions are 80 percent healed. All in all, this process was not that bad except for the starvation for about nine days and the three days after surgery as the digestive track cleared gas and restarted. I am not desperately hungry most of the time so there is definitely some truth to the reduced hunger hormone story. I have been blessed with swift recovery, largely due to a loving wife that shops, organizes and cares for my every move. I should say that although my metabolism seems to be on vacation, I can exert physical activity more easily. My wife just served the family the barbecued chicken dinner of the gods. I'm on front porch letting them eat. Onward we march.
  10. Their cappuccino is the highlight. The rest are okay only. Dissolves well.

    Who Are You?

Six days post-operative and doing pretty well. Dying to try something to eat. Very little pain. No nausea. Fluids going down. I just cheated and had two ounces of sugar free pudding. Went down fine.
  13. In my humble opinion, you are right to be upset. The tech that spoke to you was way out of line and not qualified to give such input. I did ask each of my clearing practitioners what their opinion was and given almost all supportive input.
