No I didn't vomit at all, although I was nauseated off and on for about 24 hours after surgery. The nausea medicine helped so it wasn't too bad.
Now that I am a few days out I feel pretty good. I still have a little gas but it isn't bad or very uncomfortable. I was able to go shopping yesterday without any pain so I am moving aground just fine. I haven't felt any hunger although I feel as if I can eat (or drink since I am still on liquids) a bit more today. My incisions look great and I will be flying back home tomorrow.
Overall the entire experience has been better than I thought it would be. Good luck to everyone who is getting sleeved soon, or has recently bee not lee ended!

I'm eleven days post op and was craving savory - so tired of all the artificial sweeteners - so I made hummus for the family, reserved the liquid from the can and thinned it down more. I blended the heck out of it so no little pieces remained. Oh, it was bliss as I ate it with my tiny, tiny spoon.
1 can chick peas (reserve liquid in the can - use it to thin to proper consistency)
    1/4 cup tahini
    juice of 1 lemon
    1 tsp cumin
    1/2 tsp corriander
    1 clove garlic minced
    salt

AfitRN2015 reacted to SAD HATTER in I don't understand how I gain weight now?
When you eat Keto (basically high Protein, good fats, no carb) your body enters ketosis. Eating carbs will stop ketosis. Your body will retain Water again until you re-enter ketosis. That can take a week. One cheat can stall you a week or cause water gain. If you plan a cheat, ditch the scale. For at least 2 weeks.

AfitRN2015 reacted to ShrinkingPeach in How many calories are you getting?
My nutritionist said between 600-800 calories but she really wanted us to focus on the fluids and Protein. If you are getting in your Protein you shouldn't have much room for anything else at this point so really it is too early to be worried about calories.

You shouldn't compare your progress to others. That is the path to frustration and misery. Every body is different and everyone loses at t different pace. A "slow" loss is not necessarily any reflection on your effort or how "bad" you are doing.
Pace of loss is something that is very much out of your control. It's much more important to focus on the things you CAN control and trust in the process.

In the end you have to do what is best for you. Remember, this is a difficult decision any way you look at it. We wouldn't be here if we did not need this tool in our toolboxes. Take comfort in the fact that you are doing this for you and your health for a better quality of life. You are in charge of your own destiny. ????????

I was really really worried about this too. I LOVE Water. It's all I ever drank even before surgery. So, I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to drink it post-op or that I wouldn't like it anymore. I won't lie. It was SUPER rough getting in my Water in the beginning. My post-op internal swelling made even the tiniest sip of water a huge ordeal for the first two weeks or so. Once the swelling was down, it was a lot easier, but I still wasn't able to get ALL of my water in, until I realized that it was much easier for me to drink SUPER cold water. Once I discovered that, I got a double-walled thermos-style water bottle, filled it with ice, and drank super cold water all day. Now I have no issues getting my water in. It's only ever a problem if I'm in an environment where I can't get ice water. Like somewhere that only has "cold" bottles of water. I need ICE in there. It has to be near freezing.
So my advice to you is, if you are having issues getting your water in post-op, experiment with different temperatures. I know some people do a lot better with hot beverages post-op. And some people do better with room temperature water.

    Wish I'd known...
How much it was going to hurt when I woke up from surgery. And then, how quickly it would get better over the next few days. That during the first two weeks, fluids (and Miralax) are even more important than Protein to prevent Constipation. That was my only hellish moment on this journey. About the Dreaded Week-3 Stall. Consider yourself warned, and read this... http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.php. That I wouldn't miss my fat-guy foods as much as I thought. As others have said, we get cold... alot. As others have said, our bony butts hurt... alot. As others have said, we go through clothes like poop through a goose. That non-green carbs, starches, and sugar are the enemy (at least for me). That calories and fat don't really matter as long as we're not also eating carbs. That walking is so darned much fun. That beef and turkey Jerky are secret weapons against hunger, especially on the road. That planning is the most important thing we can do to ensure success. And that if we follow all the rules, the pounds will fall off and we can make it to goal weight.

For me it was my cousin openly sharing her weight loss surgery experiences in Mexico. Without that I wouldn't be having surgery on Monday and I'd still be gaining weight. Learning about this site and the affordability of surgery in Mexico led me to my decision to have this done.

Well, friends, I originally posted here a while ago but then wound up not getting scheduled until the end of July.
The office calls me today to tell me there's a cancellation on June 26th, so I snatched it up and am now officially back to being a June sleever!
I have an appointment bright and early tomorrow to start right away on this pre-op diet! What a whirlwind!
I hope you're all doing well in the various stages of your journey!

Surgery on the 18th . . . Less than 48 hours away. Was on vacation so the pre op diet has been less than fun but knowing I'm almost there helps. Tomorrow is my liquid only day but surgeon says I can have Protein Shakes so I'm really not denying myself because they are filling and having broth in between helps. Ready to do this!

Welcome to the other side all June sleevers! I got my sleeve on June 8th and feel great. My biggest surprise is how much swelling and bloat I have around my upper abdomen. It really impacts the scale but drinking lots of liquids and getting my Protein in with no problem,

I'm finally home. I stayed an extra day because of pain and inability to tolerate liquids. I had a much better day so the surgeon let me go home.
