  1. It is definitely not easy. I was sleeved on 7/20 as well. Yesterday I was nauseated all day and generally miserable. Today is 90% better. Day and night. It just takes time and patience. Hang in there everyone. We will get through this.
  2. It will pass. Your body is sensitive to anesthesia. Once all of it is out of your system things will return to normal. Sometimes it takes a few days.
  3. I was sleeved on Monday and came home Tuesday. It all went very well. Just taking it easy sipping and walking to mobilize the gas. So far no vomiting. I'm taking it slow and doing well with my liquids. The pain is bearable. Just feels like I did a thousand sit ups. Pain meds help but make me sleepy. Each day it gets better. Hopefully my NUT will advance my diet on Wednesday.
  4. I'm tomorrow too. Can't wait. Just trying to keep busy. Been on the two week pre-op diet and clears all day today. Ready to be on the other side. Good luck to everyone tomorrow. ????
  5. Me tomorrow too! Need to check in at 5:30. Ready to go.
  6. Me too! It's amazing isn't it? I'm on my last day of my two week prep and surgery is tomorrow. It's been difficult but I've done well thanks to everyone's posts. You really have to get your head in the game and change how you view food. Very difficult for me but I'm taking it one minute at a time. I've realized that every meal is a choice. You can either choose to eat well or you can choose to eat poorly. These two weeks have shown me that I have the control, not my food. ????????
  7. Ugh. An unwanted side effect. I'm hoping the biotin I've been taking for a year and will be taking post op will help me avoid it. We shall see.
  8. I started with his group but the office was unorganized and it seemed that the follow up support was not up to par. I wanted to go with a Center of Excellence so I ended up with Dr. Jeremy Korman at LA Bariatrics/Marina Weight Loss. The whole team is amazing. My surgery is Monday 7/20 and I am in excellent hands. I'm a nurse and believe me I have done my research. The whole process has taken about 6 months and has been well worth it.
  9. Sounds like everyone is doing well. I'm on day 13 of my 14 day pre-op liver reduction diet and almost had a meal yesterday. Thanks to this blog and everyone's support I held strong and stuck to the plan. I have to be at the hospital at 0530 Monday and I am so ready to be on the other side of this surgery. I'm not nervous just excited to begin the next phase of this journey and so thankful for Bariatricpal and the wisdom of those who have already done this.
  10. If your surgeon wants you on "clear liquids" maybe you can try Isopure protein drinks which are clear and will give you 40 grams of protein in 20 oz. In the end go with your surgeon's recommendations.
  11. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope everything turns out alright and you get your surgery soon.
  12. I've heard if you lose it at a slower pace you won't have as much droopy skin. That's a plus in my book. 2 lbs a week is a good safe amount. Keep up the good work. ????
  13. I would get a new GI doc. I'm a nurse and have zero tolerance for ignorant docs.
  14. Thank you for the encouraging words. So far so good. I hope all goes well for you on your surgery day. ????????????
  15. Los Angeles area ????????
  16. Way to go everyone!! I started my two week pre-op diet today. Hope to be on the losers bench very soon ????????????
  17. i start my two week pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm excited and ready to go. Thanks for the encouraging words. ????
  18. Yes, he just needs to provide a letter to your surgeon's office and they can submit everything together. I was denied at first because I didn't have the second opinion. Once they submitted that piece I was approved within a week.
  19. When you increase your calories a bit your body realizes you are not starving and will let go. The stall will end.
  20. I'm getting over my annual summer cold. I drinking EmergenC twice a day and am feeling better. I have three weeks until surgery so I'm trying to stay healthy.
  21. ShellyD88, That sux. I am so sorry to hear that. Have you been rescheduled yet?
  22. You look fabulous!! Thank you for the encouragement ????
