My goal is to get down to 150 pounds. This surgery has been the best decision of my life. Now that I have had it, I don't see how I could have got to this point any other way. It's been one year today since I had my sleeve done. My life has changed in every aspect.
    My start weight was 333.1lbs
My weight this morning was 137.8lbs
    That's a total loss of 195.3lbs!!
    I've also lost a total of 95 inches...I'm a size 6 now...used to be a size 30.
I have accomplished this by being very focused and strict with my eating and exercise.
I eat very low carb, and always get in my Protein, Vitamins and Water every day.
For all of you just starting out, just know that anything is possible, and if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything!!

Just wanted to do a 3 month update! I had my surgery on 8/31/2016 in Atlanta, GA. Highest weight 330lb.... surgery weight 319lb...... current weight 265lb. I can truly say I feel great! I'm not where I want to be but the progression there has definitely been enjoyable even when my weight stalled. To everyone who's just starting their journey keep pushing you will be glad you did in the end. Happy Holidays

I don't care about the flak...I'm fed up. And I'm ranting about it. I see these people here, in my support group, in the waiting room at my doctor's office...they're everywhere. Complaining, whining, justifying their own crappy choices by asking others to validate them. I'm raising two sons to NOT be backseat drivers to their choices, to not blame their self-created misfortune on others...it's a personal peeve of mine. YMMV, of course.

Hi everybody. I'm 6 1/2 years out now and still doing just fine. food just isn't my focus anymore and I do not follow a traditional diet. I've been eating a whole food low fat plant based diet for a year and a half now. So no meat dairy or eggs. I feel better than ever and have my doctors blessing. My labs are great in fact better than ever. Good luck everyone. It's totally possible to keep off every pound. I've never gained anything. Just normal daily fluctuations depending on salt/water intake. But my size stays perfectly stable. I do exercise plenty though but I've done that all my life.

I had surgery on the 7/11 and was supposed to have my post op on 7/19 but didn't make it cuz I ended up back in hospital.. But long story short I had it today so a little over two weeks.. But I'm down 27lbs.. I notice it in my legs and arms and face but barely in my stomach area even tho I notice it in the way my clothes fit.. Regardless I'm so happy I made the right decision!! Thanks everyone on here for helping me with my journey along the way!!

Thanks everyone! @@LynRey70, I have just been trying to get a little bit in daily, nothing too strenuous on my body. I am still at the point where I have to take a nap at least once. I was just trying to see at this point how much is adequate. Thanks LynRey70

I don't have that requirement with my nutritionist. My Snacks just have to be "high protein", no specifics that it has to be milk protein. I WILL often have a reduced fat cheese stick or greek yogurt as a snack, but I will also just as often have nuts or a meet stick (like a beef stick, but with turkey or leaner meats) for a snack. I know a lot of people also do Jerky as a snack, but I can deal with the texture of Jerky.< /p>

OK gotcha.... Everyone is different... I was eating that amount of calories for a while. My number just recently increased up to 800. I believe my low calorie intake was due to not being able to tolerate anything really.... meat in particular. So I was eating light Greek yogurt with unflavored Unjury giving me 30 grams of Protein per yogurt cup... I had 2 of those a day given me my daily minimum of 60grams. Inbetween that I would have some type of fruit or veggie..... From what Ive read a stall is no weight loss for 3-4 weeks..... And I didn't hit any... The longest period I had euthanize weight loss was about a week. On June 27th I will 5 months post op and down 80 since surgery and including my 3 month preop diet I'm down 100. I started at 293. Surgery weight was 273 and my current weight is 193. My goal was 155. I would post pics but I don't know how to on posts lol. If you go to my profile they should pop up... I think I might look too small at that weight because I am 5'8". The only advice I can give is to listen to your body, aim for 60-80 grams of protein and get in 48-64 ounces of Water. My doc suggested that per serving my fat intake be 3 grams or less and my sugar be 5 grams or less.....I believe the week I didn't lose anything was because that week those numbers increased... So for the long post lol... Was trying to get everything out lmao ???? good luck on your journey ????

As a health coach, I would say yes. Your body could be putting itself in starvation mode with calories that low. In my opinion, calories should fall between 600 & 800. I was sleeved on 6/8 and have been getting close to 800 because I want it to effect my metabolism as little as possible. Are you getting any exercise? You want to try to keep any muscle mass that you have, that will also help your calorie burn. Feel free to ask any questions. Good luck, sweetie!

I was sleeved June 1 as well and can pretty easily get in my Water and protein! But yesterday for the first time in a while my new tummy growled at me with intensity as to say " give me some real food lady!" The only problem is that my MD says only full liquids from day 1-22!!
I will say that the support I have received on here had been tremendous and really helps when times are tough!
We should all be proud of ourselves and feel a sense of happiness that we are making changes! Keep up the good work and remember why we started!!!
