  1. I lost 54lbs in the 8 months prior to my surgery. IMHO it was the best way to prepare for what was to come.
  2. Diva...totally understand. Thanks for the great times! Best to you.
  3. I have heard that we ALL are sinners! Minnimeme...you are doing wonderfully on your weightloss...congrats!
  4. Forgot to add...it could be the dimentia setting in that makes us do it!
  5. Hey...54 yr old here...Like Hummingbird stated, sometimes we see the new posts or a thread that looks interesting and do not notice that it is a "group" thread. Hang around LBT long enough and it might just happen to you too!
  6. Diva....been missing your fun and challenging game. Wanna continue or let it go? Was so much fun and added a little spark to the day.
  7. Yep BOO BOO, I can run circles around any of my young friends. A lot of perks come with feeling healthy. And, does not bother me a bit to walk into a store and KNOW I will find something! I am sure you know that feeling and it's wonderful.
  8. BBK...I hit goal 4 months after banding. I was one the insurance had jump through many hoops b/4 banding and lost over 50lbs b/4 banding. Probably the best thing that could have happened to me. It gave me time to wrap my head around what I was in for and gave me the opportunity to study up what was to come. Thanks for the wonderful compliment. This 54 yr old feels 30 yrs younger!
  9. Mine is fairly simple...Are you shaped like and apple or a pair? I was the apple...but, not anymore!
  10. MOA is a great place but need at least a couple of days to take it all in. You definatly would get your exercise shopping there.
  11. Our summers are usually with at least that many days in the 90's with high humidity...land of 10,000 lakes. Just sent my donation for the "Polar Plunge" that will take place tomorrow. Sponsoring a nephew that will participate. Proceeds go to Special Olympics. No worries though...we are expecting a "Warm Front" to move in tomorrow. Temps over zero. Woohoo!
  12. When I attended Holy Rosary School at a very impressionable age, those nuns told me HELL was sizzling HOT. Now, TX in the summer would be hell to me.
  13. It would need to get quite a bit colder than -35 degrees windchill, Jack.:smile2:
  14. I sip on it all day long. I also take the packets of Swiss Miss with me and when I stop on the road for a coffee I use it and also SF syrup if the station has it.
  15. Sent from MN, with love, just for you!
  16. Even 18 months out and in the maintenence mode, I still use my scale once in awhile. It is so good to get into the routine of using one and KNOWING what your portion sizes are. You will get to the point that you can "eye" portions and know. But in the beginning, it really helps. I purchased a Salter brand and love it. It was $59 at Herbergers but pretty sure you could find one for less online at Amazon, etc. Model #1440.
  17. I thought the pairs my friend had were cute... Have done many, many trips around MOA...we are from MN. Haven't been back for 10 yrs.
  18. I have yet to buy a pair but plan to in the near future. I have a friend that has a couple pair of their thongs and she wore them all summer and until the snow hit.
  19. Truly an amazing accomplishment. Congrats!
  20. BBK...gotta tell you, Girl....you were one of the front runners that I looked to at the beginning of this race. That straight forward, the good the bad and the ugly was very helpful and I thank you for that.
  21. A few other foods that I keep on hand while on the road are beef jerky, soynuts, dried edamame, Aitkins protein bars (20gr protein) and a lot of fiber, snack size bags of Kashi Go Lean cereal.
  22. A dip I always have made up and ready to go: 1 cup Fat Free sour cream 1 Tsp dill weed 1 Tsp lemon juice 1 Tsp minced garlic (optional) 1 Tsp minced onion (optional) Great for dipping
  23. Kashi Go Lean and Fiber One cereals are a staple in my diet. As soon as I get home from purchasing them at the supermarket, I ration them into 1 cup snack bags so I don't get carried away with the amount I snack on. (Around 200 cals per dry cup). I use them as an afternoon or morning snack. Most have over 40% of daily requirement of fiber a person needs. They can be addicting so beware!
