  1. This is so encouraging! Thanks for sharing. I'm only three weeks post-op. Looking forward to getting where you are.
  2. I agree that some docs don't have a comprehensive program that some of us have experienced. As a result, it appears that many people simply don't know what they can or cannot do at various stages. This is a good place to ask questions. However, in some cases it seems as though the patients simply have limited info from their WLS team. That's very unfortunate.
  3. Try more than one brand. Myoplex Lite gave me terrible gas, but SlimFast High Protein did not. I know it's frustrating, but each brand is composed a bit differently.
  4. Wow...that's not a nice thing. I'm sorry, he just doesn't sound like he's ready for a serious commitment. Now that you know, act accordingly. In time, he will be replaced I'm sure.
  5. She is clearly not a nice person. But I'm concerned that her son is a "momma's boy" who didn't defend you or support you with her. In the long run that would be a huge red flag. As you slim down and reach your goals, I hope you will meet a man who will honor, love, respect, and defend you, and whose family will do the same. Life is too short to have it any other way.
  6. Nope. But I'm only three weeks post-op. Can't even fathom going on a real vacation yet.
  7. Don't worry. I was approved in 10 days.
  8. So sorry to hear this. This gives you more time to prepare for the rigor of the journey and enjoy your fav foods.
  9. I was approved in 10 days.
  10. Get s new PCP because they have to submit a detailed letter of support to the insurance company before you're approved. You don't want to get to the end of the process and have a delay because she's not fully supportive. So sorry to hear this.
  11. No problems two weeks post op for me. I was at a restaurant with family. Was nice to have something to chew while they pigged out. LOL
  12. The psych exam I took was about 250 questions broken into two parts. It was designed to assess whether you are a binge eater (I showed mildly) or have other concerns with mental wellness that could prohibit your ability to follow through with the plan. Just be consistent in your answers because you get asked the same question multiple times worded differently to trip you up.
  13. Having a baby one year ago can also affect your hormones and be the cause. Go forward with the process as you want to be your best you.
  14. I guess some don't take this major life altering/life giving procedure as seriously as others. If you're rushing to have a drink after surgery, you probably have another problem to solve. Not my business, but I do understand the sentiment.
  15. I wore shorts in public for the first time in years! Yes!!!
  16. Good idea to just stick with the meatballs and sauce.
  17. I have the same problem. Just try to get the protein and water in. There's a bariatric timer app that may help remind him.
  18. How long does it take for the surgical strips to fall off? I hope my doc doesn't pull them off this week for my follow-up. I think that may hurt. And the bruising on one side looks awful.
  19. Can you eat veggies? I was able to eat raw vegetables in addition to 4 shakes per day and water. That held me together.
  20. Wishing you a successful procedure. All will be well.
  21. In my experience having my PCP document my need to lose weight over several consecutive years was a good thing. However, his letter to Aetna also needed to indicate the same. My BMI fluctuated between a 38 up to 41 at time of this process. I was approved with no problem. My WL surgeons office knew how to put all docs together to meet their approval and they made sure I followed their checklist . From what I see on this site, that's the biggest part. I even gained 3lbs during my weight management period but ended with a net loss of 1lb submitted to insurance. Try not to stress.
  22. Yes! No cravings at all. Love that part. LOL
