I am so sorry you are experiencing such distress. Many people go through a period of regret right after surgery for a variety of reasons: hormonal fluctuations, the shock of surgery on the system, the fact that you cannot use food to regulate moods and emotions, etc.
I would suggest that this is a good opportunity to look for a good counselor or therapist to help you learn to cope in a healthy way. See if the person who did your psych clearance can see you or refer you to someone.
Whether you want to or not, you cannot turn back the clock and change what happened. The good news is that you have no choice but to move forward: you get to decide how well you follow your program and learn to make the most of this opportunity.

I cheat to! About the same time as you. I also cook for my children and because I felt no pain, I diside to try a peace of fried fish. Ive had so much discomfort, that my guilt disappeared, and then pain. Even though portion was tiny and I chew hell out if eat, it was not worth it. So, I stopped! I need two more weeks to the next level of soft food(from blended) I can wait. I wish you the best.

I know it is tough, but the post op diet restrictions are there to help with the healing of your new stomach. It's like feeding an infant pizza toppings- just not a good idea.
Try to start looking for alternatives during each of your food phases that can help you with the cravings.- because it will only get harder if you don't establish some habits and control early on. Alternatives can be anything from a tasty yogurt, specialty cheese to a non food alternative. When my cravings hit I give myself a fresh manicure- it's hard to eat when your nails are drying. Usually by the time my nails are dry the craving has passed. Also, I will do a facial and have splurged on some really good facial treatments.
My motto is that I was the one who choose to have surgery- not those around me. I can't expect everyone to change their lifestyle because of me. I had to learn to deal with it. There will always be food around, try to begin now making food just fuel for life not enjoyment.
Start researching new hobbies or make a list of all the things you want to do when you lose weight. These things helped me stay focused.

Ask people to stop eating that stuff around you or move to another room. It sucks so much but you have to look after your new tummy. Im on a 5 week pre op diet and climbing the walls craving wise but i keep telling myself this is to protect myself during surgery

The following is simply my opinion...
At 12 days out, you can't cheat with the post op 'diet'..
At 12 days out, you're not on a weight loss diet...
At 12 days out, you're on a post-surgery, what's best for your healing innards 'diet'..
At 12 days out, what you're doing is going against a medically 'prescribed' eating plan that is given to you to assist with the quicker healing and recovery from what is major surgery, and should see you thru until you're able to start eating regular food again...
So (again, in my opinion), at 12 days out, what you're doing is CHOOSING to ignore the doctor's orders and eat something that, while calorically won't make a scrap of difference long term, could (repeat, COULD, not will) have a massive effect on the time it takes to heal properly...
    Of course, I'm no doctor...
I'm just some guy who has an opinion on stuff...
And yes, I know EXACTLY how difficult this stuff is...
But believe me, the rewards are so worth the inconvenience...
Good luck with your choices in the next few weeks...

that depends on a bunch of things - your own body, your nutritionist (and how closely you follow his/her directions) and what kind of rice/bread you eat. It also depends on whether you mean "can I physically eat digest this without getting sick" or "should I be eating this while trying to be as healthy as possible and continue to lose weight". I'm 8 months out, and only VERY recently started adding such things back into my diet. I have decided that bread will never be something I have in my diet, save for very rarely and as a treat. Wheat is something that a lot of people REALLY don't want to give up, but the reality is that our bodies are not made to digest it, it is LOADED with carbs (read: sugar!), which we generally try to avoid as wls patients, and it causes insulin spikes. It can also prevent the absorption of certain minerals and nutrients we need to survive and be healthy... and we already have enough absorption issues! Most nutritionists say that it's good, or even healthy (because of the fiber) to eat whole grain bread, but I have personally decided that the insulin spikes are not worth it, I would rather eat healthy carbs, and I can get my Fiber in other, healthier ways. That is entirely your decision, and only you and your nutritionist have any right to tell you what to do.
As for rice, I'm now able to eat small amounts of brown rice, and brown rice is really good for you. I was so tired for the first six months or so, and now that I've been able to add good carbs back in (brown rice, quinoa, Beans, etc) I feel much, much better! No doubt you will get a myriad of responses here that all contradict each other. I can only offer what I have learned and experienced. The best place to ask this question would be your nutritionist's office.
How are you feeling otherwise? at 4 months out, I was still sort of miserable and tired. Then again, I was also anemic at the time! Keep on keeping on...
EDIT: here's an article that explains pretty much everything I've learned about why wheat is bad for you: http://news.discovery.com/human/why-you-should-probably-stop-eating-wheat-121214.htm I've learned from many sources but this one sums it up pretty well and explains the digestion and absorption issues clearer.

I miss a good piece of toast and I miss rice. I am following the rules and not eating Pasta, rice or bread but I was wondering at what point can they be added back in? Do I need to wait until I have lost all the weight I want to lose and am trying to maintain?

Shopping for clothes in small sizes these days is still mind-boggling for me.
    Just freaky!
Even after nearly a year at and below my weight goal.
Enjoy the hell out of it.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I ordered a dress online in a L and was nervous it was going to fit. It arrived in the TINIEST box (WTH Nordstorm) and when I pulled it out I kept thinking that it was so small and no way was it going to fit. It does and looks fantastic (once I Iron it) but I am still in awe at what fits me now.
Enjoy the new discovery, I personally think this is the fun part especially since we went through so much to get here.

Oh my gosh, this exact same thing happened to me! I bought an XXL sweater in Target a few months ago and just couldn't believe it was actually a little big! Mostly I kept thinking, someone is going to ask me if they can help me find a Christmas gift for someone. They didn't of course but still felt like it!
So happy for you! (I tried to post a response to your status but my computer wasn't cooperating for some reason!)
I have also gone to New York & Company recently (mostly because I also knew they had plus sizes if I needed it) and ended up with XL shirts and MAYBE could have gotten away with an L but really could not wrap my brain around that actually being a reality so I didn't even try it on. I really don't have a great grasp on what size I really am now. At the suggestion of my therapist, I pulled out the only item of clothing I saved from my largest day - a pair of jeans. I put them on and holy cow.... talk about a reality check. I don't know which I cannot fathom more - that I am actually this size now or that I actually was that size then! If you kept anything, give it a shot. It is very interesting...

I've had some medical issues over the past two months (not surgery/sleeve complications), so I've been preoccupied and not paying close attention to my weight loss. I realized a few days ago that my clothes are falling off. I decided to get a few things at Target, which led to today's NSV: I bought my first non-plus size shirts and dresses!
My shopping experience was surreal. I started in Target's extremely inadequate plus-size department, but then I decided to try on the largest misses size (XXL). I started with a striped maxi dress. I couldn't believe it when it actually went over my body. I really couldn't believe it when I didn't want to break the mirror. Sure, I'm still "fluffy," but for the first time in years, I felt like my curves were attractive. This is a EPIC accomplishment for me.
Outside of the dressing room, I felt like a fraud, though. I'd already confirmed for myself that I could fit into misses XXL, but I felt like people were judging me for straying outside the plus-size section. I actually felt paranoid that someone was going to walk up to me and suggest I stop looking in the misses section. For years, shopping for clothes has been demoralizing and painful for me. I guess it's going to take some time to get over that history. It seems silly to get so emotional over shopping, but I couldn't help my feelings.
How do you feel as you shop for smaller clothes?

Wait a minute... is this a picture of you?

At first I thought you were fishing for compliments, but by the time I finished reading your post I looked at your profile. When I saw this picture, I realized you didn't have the slack-jaw coupled with a sloping forehead and knuckle dragging posture indicative of the typical mouth-breathing social media addicts that can only find approval from strangers telling them how pretty they are.
From a man that has nothing to gain from a compliment given to a young lady, let me reassure you that you are attractive. Very attractive. I believe the in the vernacular of today it would be safe to classify you as hottie. I would have called you a babe 20 years ago!
I think y@@VSGAnn2014 nailed it when she said you may be experiencing dysmorphia. The face and body you see in the mirror is not what you expect and it "feels" wrong, perhaps even alien. And what we perceive to be wrong or different is usually interpret to be a negative. You just keep doing what you are doing, because whatever that is; it is working!

I can relate. I am down almost 70 lbs with plenty more left to lose, and now that my face is thinning out I am not happy with what I see either. I feel like my nose is huge, my face is 12 shades Pinker than my neck, and my neck looks like a wrinkly turkey neck. I didn't see these things when I was 70 lbs heavier. In rational moments I assure myself I am being overly self critical, and I am sure you are also. You look beautiful in your avatar photo. We both need to stop being our own worst critics!

pureed cottage chesse isn't "gross". It has the consistencty of Greek yogurt.
For breakfast, I did pureed cottage cheese with a little vanilla extract, cinnamon, and artificial sweetner. It tastes like a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting!
Another treat: 16 ounces low-fat cottage cheese pureed with 1 small envelope of sugar free Jello powder - makes four 4 oz. servings. strawberry is my favorite, but any flavor will work.
