  1. Allison, you're going to do fine. The sleep study is tedious and you won't sleep a lot. Plan on sleeping tomorrow if you can. The psych is not bad. You'll take a personality test, which is long and lame, and the PhD will meet with you regarding any severe problems, i.e. clinical depression, psychosis. You don't strike me as suffering from some sort of malady of the mind. Good luck! And again, you'll do fine!!! And closer to getting your band!!!
  2. Hey Allison! We also have the same weight goals (I just figured out how to display that info...)!
  3. Dr. Francis at Fountain Valley (Orange County,CA) How about you?
  4. I live in Yorba Linda. Where are you being banded?
  5. Yeah! I finally have my surgery date- May 6! 3 weeks away! I am so excited...:huh2:
  6. Hi everyone, I am praying that I will be banded in May with Dr. Francis in Orange County, CA. I, hopefully, will find out this week my surgery date. It is nice to have this support here for us. Do we have a name yet? i.e. May Flowers
  7. Am I the odd ball out that I don't like any of our choices?!?!? :puke: Hillary and Barack are too far left and irresponsible (I could list a plethora of reasons for each). John McCain is worse than all the things I don't like about Bush. Can we find somebody else? Looks like we're in for a heck of a four years no matter who is in office...
  8. Well, I received my approval for the LapBand surgery, and I was so excited. I called surgeon to set up my surgery date, and the staff told me I needed a sleep study first because my chart shows that I have signs of sleep apnea. I said, "what the ....! Why didn't anyone tell me three months ago?!?" So, tomorrow I find out if my sleep study is approved. What I am wondering is if my sleep study shows that I have sleep apnea, then what, they don't do the surgery? What is the process? Does anyone know? Thanks for any help...
  9. Yeah, I like the color, too!
  10. Heck, I might anger some people, but I think 7 kids is too much for ANYONE, any age, married or single. Kids need attention, love, discipline, and guidance. I have two kids and my DH and I struggle to do as well as we should by them... Granted, one has autism and both have a lot of energy (more than most kids). But even still, wait until you have to schlep to birthday parties, dance, soccer, baseball, church activities, etc... You get my point.
  11. Oh, and my sister's maid of honor had short hair, and she looked lovely in the wedding! She did an "up-do" with a decorative bobby pin. It was great!
  12. I like your hair in the last picture...
  13. How about Lovely Leprechauns? or Lucky Leprechauns?
  14. I'm waiting and it will, hopefully, be in March. BTW, what does DH mean?
  15. It is an informational meeting as a group on gastric bypass and Lapband. You will also go over insurance stuff with an insurance specialist who will tell you your next steps in order to get approved. You will then take a fairly long (I can't remember how many questions, about 250?) psych test. Then you will be weighed and photographed. It is really rather simple, and only the beginning. Good luck, and message me if you have any more questions!
  16. I have only told my husband and mom. I would like to tell the rest of my family because we are all usually pretty open with one another. But I am the only fat one of my siblings and I don't trust that my in-laws wouldn't gossip with everyone (my husband has a couple of family members who had gastric bypass and everyone constantly asks about them!) I'm still waiting for my insurance approval, but I am confident it will come through soon as I spoke with Blue Cross about it and they pre-approved based on doctor's opinion. Frankly, I am scared that this won't work. I have tried so many diets in the past and was unsuccessful or ained the weight, plus some, back. I am so glad I found this forum because reading what everyone else has experienced really helps me become a little optomistic. I know I have a thin, fit person inside of me- she just needs a little help coming out!
  17. I met with my surgeon this week, and am just awaiting approval from the insurance company (from which I have a verbal approval with approval number). I can't wait for a surgery date!!
  18. I am a conservative Republican woman in California. Talk about an anomoly! I agree with you about most of what you said, but I think that we should not support illegal immigrants even if they pay into the tax system They are ILLEGAL. But I mostly agree with whatever politician it is, they will do whatever they want without thought to what the constituents want....
  19. Ha-ha! I am still waiting for my Psych eval (Feb 4). I was a Psych major and am very familiar with these tests and Psychologists' interviews. After reading these posts, I am intrigued as to how my PhD will behave in our meeting...
