Did We Do Well?
Hi, I hope they're doing well. Even though they're not logging. Life for me right now is fine. Not losing anything, but not gaining back that much. I think once I get back into the gym, I'll lose again. Not that I'm making bad choices, just not exercising to maintain nor losing either. I'm wearing my stand by pants. The one that you have to wear for the new pants are not fitting right. Those pants. Well, enough for me now. Don't get stressed, we could have bigger problems. You know what I mean. We've still pounds ahead from where we were almost 3 years ago.

Did We Do Well?
Jeni 85, I know and understand the self sabortaging issue. Once I got down to 181lbs. Just 5lbs from my goal and what did I do began to eat even when I wasn't hungry. Like you I haven't been excersing nor been to the gym. I was going with my daughter at nights. So, when she wasn't able to go I didn't. Mind you now, I was going faithfully before our "mother - daughter" support team. Now that the holidays are here, I hope to use this time as my jump to getting in control of my eating portions. I did chose bad foods, and over enjoyed the good choices. I so do want to be at goal weight come March, 2010. This is my year to be at my best in weight and health. So, Jeni all though we don't post much, still think of us and what we would say to encourage you to get back on track. Just remember we are all in this together. We all are going through things in our lives and we all handle them differently. The one thing that we have control over in this is what we eat. Yes, it's easier said than done, but when you really think about it, it is easier. But most of all, just think of how worse we would feel if we were not on this journey. I dread to think of it, try to push it out of my mind but honestsly, we've come a long way baby. Well, I'll stop here and do come back. I'll try to get back more than once a week. If I'm the only one here to encourage you, then I'm what you need at that time. See you soon.

Did We Do Well?
Just checking in. Still losing slowly and still have not gotten a new battery for my scale. In October when the battery died, I vowed not buy a new one and just let my clothes tellme when I've lost or gained. When I had to pull out my "oh no, I've gained weight pants", I got back to losing again. I had a bread habit I was feeding. Now that, that's over I'm losing weight again. So, what's going on in your life?

Did We Do Well?
Hi everyone, just checking to see who've come back. So far, just me. But that's okay. So now that you're back what has been going on in your life? Whatever it is, I hope it didn't take you too far from your goal.

Re: No More Excuses permalink It's 3 days into the month. What have you've done for yourself so far? For me just revamping how to trick myself into more weight loss. Now that it's light about 7am, I'm going to go back to early morning gym. And evening gym 3x a week with my daughter. So, what are you going to do or change? __________________ It's inside all of us to lose weight.

No More Excuses
Hi All, just checking in. All is well for now. I have no setback stories to tell. I'm getting back into exercising with the machine weights again. I've been exercising w/ my daughter who like the free weights. In doing so, I lost the firminess of my thighs I worked so hard to get. Then on top of not losing as before. So, now we exercising the upper body one day, the lower body the next day and one day on the machine weights. So, I've stopped eating bread again. I guess after the carb/bread overload I'm set for awhile. Now I will eat bread spareingly, within reason. From now on what I'll do is freeze some and take out as needed. So, I'll stop here and hope to read what you've been doing lately. (excuse any typos, I'm too tired to reread for errors). Nite and sleep well.

No More Excuses
Hi Everyone, I don't have a problem eating bread. In the beginning I did. I am a bread and Pasta junkie. It started out eating pb&j as a snack just to get the carbs in. For I either didn't eat any carbs or just a little carbs with my lunch and dinner. Then the more I didn't eat my carbs with my meals the more I ate pb&j. And that's where it all started. But I've since gotten the bread back under control. That day I had pb&j one slice at a time, then two, then as a sandwich or just plain slices. Then I had bought two different types of bread. wheat with flaxseed and Fiber, and a Protein bread. I was home that day so it started from Breakfast to dinner to the last snack of the day. And like I said I paid for it the next couple of days.

No More Excuses
I've been going through some changes. Nothing earth shattering. My weight is starting to come down again. I had a set back last week when I partically at a whole loaf of bread last Wednesday. Of course I paid the price for it when I came down with a carb overload headache and put back on a few pounds. I've since recovered and I am doing well again. My hopes are high, in losing those last few pounds. I hope I've bought my last pair of pants for the size I want to be. And that's a size 16r, 16w or 14w depending on the designer and cut. Although losing and sticking to a plan was the hard part, now comes to maintaining it. I'm beginning to feel comfortable with the size I am and about to become. Although at times I feel I still fat, no over weight and I still carry that fat mentally. Especially when it comes to sitting next to someone. And I still go to the large size clothing section. My new year's resolution will be to maintain my new weight and size. I'm excited and scared at the same time. For lack of a better word or meaning trying to lose this weight was a crutch for me. Now I am about to lose it I'm afraid to stand on my own. I hope it makes some kind of sense to you what I am feeling. Well so much for me what's going on with you.

Tricking ourselves back to weightloss land
This is the November Link: For some of us like me we have fallen behind or lagged very bad. I for one am that person. But for the most part I am staying and maintaing less than 200lbs, more so 190 185. I may have reached my stable weight. If so, I am so happy for this stage. I still want to lose another 15lbs - 20lbs by the end of the year. But I am so happy just with what I have lost these last 2yrs. 8mos. I've tried so many different healthy weight loss way of eating. From each new way and trying different styles I've learned alot about food. Just following the Protein, veggies and carb way of eating I am now wiser than before. So, let's continue to reach our weight goals, don't give up, don't beat our selves up for we are still learning what works best for us. Tricking ourselves back to weightloss land
Jeni 85, you picked a great title for our October thread. For I sure am trying to trick myself back to weight loss. I've gone on a semi liquid fast. I puree my vegetables and eat this through the day. I also have a 32oz bottle I use for Water. This way I know I've gotten at least 4 cups of water at work and get the other 4 at home. When I was having troubling getting in my water, I put some fruit juice in it, just to give it some taste. And it's working right now. I also make a fruit smoothie and take about 1/4 to 1/2 cup 2x - 3x a day. Then off to the gym 3x a week. I've only been on this since Thursday last week and I've seen some results for I can now get into a suit I wore just before the summer. I also did not replace the battery in my scale. So, I'm depending on my clothes and the tape measurer for weight loss. Well, that's all for me. Hope to read good results of others.

Step It Up Marchies
Just Checking In Thanks Carol, I'm coming to grips with her gone. I think more of her everyday than before. Now I'm really going to retire next year and enjoy the rest of my life. I've been keeping up with the exercises and portion control. Weight is dropping slowly but dropping. Today I lost it for there was a farewell party for co-workers losing their jobs as of tomorrow. Emotions were high but we all put on our best faces and got through it. Tomorrow is another story. Went to the gym to counteract what I ate today. I had too much carbs. Mac salad and rice. Ate more carbs today than I do in a weeks time. Couldn't do much at the gym though. Did 15min of ellipitical and was done. Going to sleep when I log off from here. How have everyone been doing? Nite

Step It Up Marchies
Good Day to All. Just an update of my friend's memorial. There was no "body" for anyone to view for she was cremated. Those who attended was very shocked and surprised at this. If it weren't for his sister having a viewing on Friday I would of not seen her. I'm also sorry now that I let my daughter go to school, for I thought she would get to see her on Saturday. But, I'm alright just coming to terms with my life without her now. It's so empty. For like I said she was my friend for the past 43 years. When I went out last night, I felt her presence there. For it was us being there together dancing and watching others have fun. Putting our heads together talking and laughing about who had on what. A woman there had on those padded "butt" panties. It was hilarious. For her skirt/dress was so tight you could see the imprint and the stitching of it. She looked like those kids who pad themselves from the beating their about to get. So, with the fact she was tipsy wth drink and high heels, she looked funny. It was the way she was walking that got people's attention to this. Well, so much for me. Life goes on and so will I. Back to the basics and reaching my goal weight by December. Blessings and Prayers to everyone. Thanks for being here. Thanks. :blushing:

Step It Up Marchies
Hi All, just checking in. I did pretty well this week. Despite the death of my best friend of 43 years. Also despite the fact that her children feels I abandoned her when she needed me the most. They have been harboring this resentment for the past 2 years. Now I know why they didn't have any and little contact w/ me. The communication was one sided. Me to them and no response from them. They should of let me know they felt this way these years. It is so bad that the daughter had a separate viewing for me and some others 'cause her brother doesn't want me to the memorial for their mother today. Can you believe that. From what I gathered this caused a rift w/ them in addition to other factors that goes along w/ making funeral arrangements. But, I thanked her and let her know that I would still like to be a part of her life and that I'll be here when and if she needs me. I'm mad and not mad w/ them. I'm just disappointed in how they handled this situation. Being the out-spoken adults they claim to be. I'm quite sure I've been bad mouthed to their friends and family. I just hope today they don't display this anger to those who ask them why I'm didn't show. Today is not the day to display to vent this. I also hope they don't take it out on my daughter who will be attending. Then of course like mothers' we are, I, will be making a call to him. But enough of my woes and thanks for reading. What progress have you made? Jeni - we all have been there. Those few pounds that just won't leave. Remember, the body is probably regrouping from what you've lost so far. And w/ us forcing more weight loss, we may be just holding up our own progress. At this time I just focus on losing inches and let the pounds take care of its self. Juli, this too shall pass. When that happens to me, it's just that I haven't had enough Protein at meal times. When I increase my protein back to 3 - 4 ounces or just eat more protein, my cravings usually stop. Also, not buying a lot of bread at one time which I tend to do. So, let's get back to the basics and see what needs to be revamped. Blessings and prayers to all.

Hey glad you two know where to come when you need that support and motviation. You're in this slump for a while. There is something going on in your lives that you may not have control over just yet. So, your diet is going to suffer too. Now that you know you're slipping you just get control over the one thing you know you can do. Go back to the basics and start from there. Find those things that worked and stick to it for a while. I'm been back to basics for almost a week now and I'm losing the weight I put "back" on during my "out of control moment". Not new weight lose yet. So begin there and keep it moving. momlambert, you are my idol. When I think of how my two daughters are so different, I ask myself "why did I think this would be the same or easy? But, they're 17 years apart. Boy, did I get surprised. We are getting better at this mother - daughter thing. carol1951 - are you seeing a therapist for exercises yet?
