  1. What does your doctor say? It's not unheard of, but some patients have difficulty digesting protein (especially fatty foods) before AND after gallbladder removal. I'd expect that you'd be better in the next few weeks.
  2. This will be great, add me in!
  3. Yes, also when you take in so little food, it takes longer for your colon to fill
  4. No one can be perfect (and eat perfectly) 100% of the time. Please don't beat yourself up over it.
  5. I had my IUD (Mirena) placed prior to my sleeve, but I did notice the increased weight gain like so many others. Almost to the point where I contemplated having it taken out.
  6. Yes, both my bikini line and underarm areas. A tip I learned from a colleague is to get prescription lidocaine/prilocaine topical cream from your physician. Apply to the areas being treated and then wrap or place plastic wrap over it for 2-3 hours until numb. Pop one gram of Tylenol about 45 minutes before the appointment. I found this has really minimized the discomfort.
  7. Congratulations on the surgery! Without knowing your starting weight, it's a bit harder to know if you are truly losing on average with the rest of us, but it's a good starting point nevertheless. Keep going...
  8. The drain does not feel so bad while it's getting removed. You'll feel a million times better afterward!
  9. Only my significant other knows. Everyone else (my parents, best friend) thinks I'm just on a strict diet!
  10. I actually wore a post-surgical garment (very similar to a girdle) about 48 hours after the surgery was done. It really helped support my stomach and ease the discomfort.
  11. Truly puréed was unsweetened applesauce. However I quickly transitioned myself to sugar free pudding and Wendy's chili!
  12. I'm just past 5 weeks out and I've noticed that my hair and nails are growing much slower than usual. I started taking the biotin too!
  13. Congratulations on the weight loss, that's fantastic. Welcome to the board!
  14. Oh no! The pancreatitis usually is on the CT scan, but I assume your lab tests showed something. Good luck to you.
  15. I took off for 4 weeks. My job requires a lot of walking and mental readiness.
  16. It may be as simple as less fat=less insulation.
  17. Congratulations! Are you having any issues in terms of nutrition and keeping up the required caloric intake?
  18. Good luck, I noticed that my discomfort got better day by day!
  19. McDonald's Vanilla Ice Cream (didn't eat the cone)...believe I had dumping syndrome afterwards. This was 2 weeks post op, and the best negative reinforcement I've ever had!
  20. Great idea! With the weight coming off so quickly I'm definitely in an "in between" stage. Not too excited about buying new clothes but those are good suggestions.
  21. That's awesome! #Motivation
  22. Are you sleeping on your stomach? That may be aggravating the healing process...
  23. I felt miserable my first few days post-op. Stay positive, you'll feel better soon. Stay focused on all the weight coming off!
  24. I remember the concept but the idea never took off because of the problem of registering the bites you actually take. It'd be a wonderful idea for us sleevers!
