Alcoholic beverages
I don't think anyone here that is seriously wanting to lose weight has the mindset that "just one is okay", whether that is about food, alcohol, drugs, or whatever vice one may have. With that being said, the vast majority of those having bariatric surgery had to jump through several hoops for insurance to approve them. One of those hoops were a psychological evaluation. I won't get into the medical criteria for alcohol addiction, but I think @@Roxie Malone can tell the difference between having a social drink vs drinking alcohol everyday because one cannot stop. Lastly, no one will be 100% perfect with their diet. It's not possible. Can you honestly say that you will never eat a piece of pizza ever again? I know I can't and I won't. The key is moderation.

Obesity! Will that word follow me to the grave :(
That's unfortunate but obesity is still a relevant diagnosis, even if you are no longer obese!

If you can't drink wine then vodka water may be your best option. I've done fine with beer consumption, wine, and regular cocktails without any impact on my weight loss.

Your doctor didn't make a mistake. Your medical chart will always denote that obesity is a diagnosis, even if you are now thinner. The information is critical to know, especially if you're still living with chronic co-morbid conditions from being obese.

For fat loss, low-fat diets beat low-carb diets handily, new research finds
Nice read, but they should've expanded the study for more valid result. I wouldn't recommend any drastic diet changes based off this just yet!

How much weight loss first 3wks
My understanding is 20lbs, give or take 5lbs. It depends on the patient though, as there are a lot of different factors at play.

Give your stomach a chance to heal and stay on the broth and jello for now.
