naomi1009 got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in First time at a restaurant
So this weekend I went to three different restaurants with my mother, and grandmother for Mother's Day. And I'm proud to say that although I'm still in my soft food stage I did pretty good I had fish ceviche in one of the restaurants that I also ate the next day for lunch, and I had bean Soup at another place and shared it with my sister and best friend, and the ultimate challenge going to a Dominican restaurant ???? I'm Dominican, and I love the food from the place I went with my mother and grandmother, but I just ordered baked salmon which was served with fried plantains that I gave to my grandmother to eat, and I'm still eating some of that salmon for lunch today. Although it might not seem like much I think is a big deal for me I love food and I went to 3 different restaurants over this past weekend, and stayed within the boundaries of my diet in all three of them. ????????????

I keep it simple. A cup of Soup, Beans, grilled chicken. Stay away from the obvious like fried, greasy, sweet foods. I was determined not to change my family's routine or meal time. I'm not going to sit here and lie. When that chip basket is staring me in the face tempting me, all I want to do is grab one. I just remember that everything I am doing is going to keep me around a little longer.

Hello! I was sleeved 12/26 so I'm almost 3 months out although it feels like forever ago. I was scrolling through some old pictures and found one from 2.5 years ago... Probably close to the heaviest I've been. I started the process in June of last year at 369lbs. The day of surgery I was 330 and today I am 281. I'm not sure the last time I saw that weight but I am in total amazement that I am under 300! Heres the before and after for reference.

When you lay on your side and you can feel your knee bones rub together for the first time and it feels weird so you put a pillow between your legs.

My surgeon said it was fine to have a drink after one week but to aware of the empty calories and also it hitting you harder. I occasionally have a small glass of rosé diluted with Water and ice and it has gone down fine with no bad side effects. Your right it is nice to feel normal when out socialising!

Glad you had no ill effects. My surgery was in November, 2014. I am someone who has never been a big drinker, however, I always had a wine cooler during the Super Bowl. I decided to give it a try and had no problems with it at all. My thinking is that this is something that is variable from person to person. Obviously moderation is important and listening to the signals your body gives.

It’s great that you’re doing your research and trying to figure out what to expect and how much weight loss to aim for…just remember that you are YOU! Your experience will be different from everyone else’s. You may lose faster, slower, or right on average.
Remember to keep it in perspective. Even if it takes you five years to reach goal weight…who cares? You will be feeling better throughout those five years, and you will still have the rest of your life to maintain your weight. So enjoy the journey, work hard, know what to expect, and expect the curveballs that are definitely going to come.

I used two FitBit's over the last 3-4 years. Lost one and my dog ate the other! Waiting on my Apple watch to be delivered over the next two or three days. I believe it's going to be my new and permanent activity tracker.
We're also working on our own food and activity tracker apps and I'll announce further info once we're closer to launch.
