  1. First and foremost, seek advice from your doctors office. Second, Pasta is not a good idea and can cause problems in your new tummy. What kind of meat are we talking about? You are only 4 weeks out...what is your surgeon's meal plan and are you following it? At 4 weeks out I was still on soft foods. Soft meats and cooked veggies. Regardless of what stage you are in, you must make it a priority to drink. I know you said you are hungry every two hours but sometimes that is the body telling us it is thirsty. How much Fluid are you getting in daily?
  2. I don't have any personal experience with the issue you are having but I will say this. I know athletes who train and put a lot of duress on their bodies stop menstruating for a time. It stands to reason the rapid changes your body has gone through would do the same. If your doctor sees no cause for alarm, I would be patient and give it a few months for your body to reset. If after a few months you see no change, then you can pursue other advice. Maybe also a call to your GYN for some feedback? Maybe they have seen this before. If they can help it will put your mind at ease. I think we lose the weight so quickly that it makes our entire body freak out a bit. Just as there were stalls along the way, I think your body is resetting and catching up. Hope you get the answers you want and good luck!!
  3. My nutritionist had Tricuits and wheat thins on the list for soft food phase. They break down differently than regular crackers. I tried the 100% whole grain wheat thins and they were great, had great flavor and are very small. A serving size is 15 crackers but I usually eat them with a tsp of Peanut Butter so I only eat 7. For me I do want to stay away from breads and Pasta but the crunch of these crackers is very satisfying.
  4. Agree with @Bufflehead. A serving for you will be small anyway. You should be fine. Glad you found some!!
  5. My nutritionist says caffeine dehydrates. She didn't say we couldn't have it but she said not to count it in our fluids for the day. I quit caffeine many years ago so that was okay by me. As always I would follow the advice of my own surgeon/nutritionist!
  6. Kitchen scale, I even got a travel pocket size scale for travel A blender, one that crushes ice I got Bento Boxes from Walmart for small portioned lunches for work A lunch bag and blue ice I got the veggie spiralizer but so far can't eat much to use it lol A good bathroom scale if you don't already have one A measuring tape, take your measurements to see progress even when the scale isn't moving Lastly, a couple good Water bottles so you always have water handy
  7. Congrats on your success so far. I also have had to forge a new relationship with food. I knew my life was revolving around it in many ways (dinner with friends, dinner out period, Snacks, junk food) but this decision really pointed that out. I like the new relationship my sleeve forces me to have and I am coming to respect that I need to eat like a skinny person. Good luck on your journey to health! You will be amazing!
  8. I try to be patient but the repeat questions over "when can I do all the things that I am told not to?" or "when can I go back to eating anything and everything?" Those get me and drive me insane. Also not gonna mention any names but the post I see every week that says something to the effect of "I walk 2-3 miles a day and only eat 500 calories but I don't lose" What a lie, not even possible. I look at my husband and read them to him and he says "walk away" but it is like a train wreck and I have to look lmao
  9. Way to go!! Congrats on your success so far! Keep up the good work! I bet you feel amazing!
  10. Everyone heals differently, so hard to tell. I didn't have any issues but I have heard of some having continual issues after surgery. For most it seems to be around the 4-6 week mark when significant improvement happens. Hang in there and it WILL get better every day until you suddenly look around and it is all better. This too will pass, Good luck!!
  11. 8 weeks post op here and I average about 750 a day, sometimes less. That seems high to me too. I could not have eaten that many calories and stayed high Protein at that point. I agree that @@VSGAnn2014 sounds perfect.
  12. Ball game and fireworks after. Hoping it doesn't rain lol. Have a wonderful 4th with your family!
  13. I was pretty tired for about 3-4 weeks after but every day got better. Make sure to stay hydrated and get your Protein in. This is MAJOR surgery and we often forget that as we are able to be up and about so soon. I see some post they are tired more than others so I also think it is also up to how fast you heal. Good luck!
  14. Good luck to you and congrats on making a huge decision for your health. Research, follow your plan and read posts here! Keep us posted on your progress and ask questions anytime!
  15. It varies from person to person but for me I could drink pretty well at 2.5 weeks. It got better and better as I went. Now I drink like I did before surgery. Good luck!
  16. 8 weeks post-op and don't feel hungry like I used to. I started feeling like maybe I should eat something at 3 weeks out but really don't get hungry the same way. Usually when I do feel it I am really just thirsty and Water takes care of it. Good luck!
  17. You re definitely right. I had problems with anything thicker than Water initially. As the swelling goes down it will get easier so keep trying. The initial stages are the most challenging then it gets much easier from there. Good luck!
  18. If you switch to a higher Protein and lower carb eating plan I promise you won't get as hungry and it is what you will be eating after surgery. I used My fitness pal and logged what I ate and I literally could not eat as much as I was allowed. every pound you lose now puts you closer to your goal for after surgery! You can do this!!
  19. My blender for my Protein shakes, crushes ice like a champ. Me to measure my food. My Water bottles with straws so I get my fluids in every day. My Bento boxes to pack my small portion lunches and Snacks in.
  20. I feel your pain! lol I weigh 2-3 times a week just because I get a sudden urge just to check but I go with what I get every sunday. It really does fluctuate too much from day to day! Good luck!
  21. The sleeve is a tool along with exercise and a change of eating habits. So basically a forever diet with a smaller stomach. It is definitely a life long commitment and not a short term diet. Can you lose weight? Absolutely! Can you gain it all back? Absolutely! Yes you may become nauseous if you eat too much. Just don't eat more than you are allowed. You will have to take Vitamins the rest of your life...you have to be okay with that. You have to commit to drinking 64 ounces Water a day minimum. It is a tool along with a commitment from you to make a change in your life. You can always go for a consult and learn for yourself. Do your research and learn what the process is. There are tons of success stories and yes there are tons of people who fell off the plan. You can choose to be a success story, the choice is yours to make. Good luck no matter what you do!
  22. You DID just have major surgery, were you really expecting to be out of pain already? Hang in there and it will get better every day. Take your pain meds as instructed for at least a few days and then you can wean off. Sounds like you are exactly on schedule. Good luck!
  23. Sounds like you are doing fine. It is so hard to wait I know. Start watching your eating habits and begin eating higher Protein and lower carb. You may lose some weight prior to surgery and that isn't such a bad thing. If you get in the gym now you will recover faster and gat back to it sooner. Any weight you lose now is a step closer to your goal! Go for it!
  24. You can have fluctuations like that from day to day. It is the overall trend you should track. Hang in there!
  25. It can be a lengthy checklist but consider they are being thorough. Your day will be here before you know it and this gives you a chance to lose and get closer to your goal. Good luck!
