  1. I didn't have this happen but have you shared this with your surgeon? I was given oral liquid hydrocodone for pain. There are alternatives. Good luck!!
  2. I had a one egg "omelet". One egg with a pinch of 2% cheese and a tbsp. of chopped deli turkey. Could only eat half but it was amazing!
  3. Loved your post! I am also amazed at the differences in eating plans from everyone here. That being said I am having success with the one I was given from my nutritionist so I just stick to that. Ultimately I know the sleeve is a tool and it has to be paired with exercise and a healthy eating plan. No matter the arrangement, all the plans incorporate that and end at a sensible meal plan for the remainder of time. It is just a difference in opinions of nutritionists and we all know the one about opinions right? lol Hang in there and know this will work for you as it has for others in your surgeons office or else the plan would have gotten changed. Every pound lost is a win! Good luck!!
  4. Well said, I didn't think of that before surgery but it has become glaringly apparent after surgery. I am learning so many thing I was blind to before in my food induced haze. I am glad to finally be on this journey and getting healthier every day. Good luck to you all in your own personal journeys!
  5. Celebrate by rewarding yourself with a non-food related gift. Maintain the loss. Enjoy life! Congratulations!
  6. Congrats!! Such an inspiration! Thanks for posting! Keep up the great work! Celebrate success logo" />
  7. Thank you very much! Where is your surgery being done?
  8. May I suggest taking your measurements also. You will hit a stall and feel like you are not losing. When you measure you will see that even when the scale isn't moving the inches are still going.
  9. I was allowed to add back in regular foods slowly starting at 6 weeks post-op. I have made a conscious decision not to eat the bad things that got me to my surgery day. I won't be eating rice, bread, Cookies etc. For me now fruit is a treat, or a Protein bar, a Protein shake or something low calorie. The sleeve is only a tool and if I don't treat her with respect and just fill her with junk she will fail. I now have grilled or bakes chicken, salmon or a bunless burger. I eat better veggies like zucchini or squash or green Beans, not potatoes or fries or rice. I would think eating those old habits would just cause one to slide back into old habits. Find alternatives so you can enjoy the taste without having the bad parts. Good luck!
  10. Know that her comments are more about her than about you. Somewhere deep inside her she is very insecure. You have made a great decision and you will be successful. Now don't be surprised if, once you are at your goal weight, she finds something else to complain about. Do this for you and not anyone else! Good luck and great going!!
  11. @@yasky33, welcome! @@proudgrammy is spot on! You will get lots of advice if you ask but definitely listen to your surgeon and nutritionist. Your plan will be similar to some and totally different from others. Do your own plan as it is given to you. Do that and you will be successful! You will consistently lose weight and you will feel sooo much better! Good luck to you and speak up often!
  12. The journey is going great so far. Lost 38 pounds since surgery May 15th and 70 total so far. I have lost 43.5 inches. I have done so well I asked my surgeon did he really do the surgery at my first post-op. I have tolerated all foods and have really had no issues. He laughed at me. lol I said if not for the fact that I can only eat a small portion I would think he faked me out. How is everyone else doing?
  13. I was very fortunate to not have any gas pains or nausea. Congrats on your surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery. Good luck!
  14. I never had any real pain to speak of at my incision sites but it took about 3-4 weeks for them to heal pretty well. I only elt tender when I stood up or lowered to sit down. It will get better every day. Hang in there!
  15. Welcome @@ann5535! Congrats on your surgery and best of luck to you! Hope to see you lots on here and sharing your story!
  16. @, I live in Lawrenceville, where are you? And @@AllisonK1986 I married a man who moved here to be with me from Charleston lol...we go there every other weekend to visit his kids! Small world!
  17. I had a couple sips of my hubby's drink at 6 weeks out. It really didn't affect me at all. I don't drink often but really just don't want the empty calories. I may splurge on a special occasion and have one drink but for the most part it isn't worth it.
  18. 5 weeks out I was still on soft foods. Make sure you are chewing up your food properly since that is hard on your sleeve. Also a lot of people say their sleeve makes noises after they eat so it may just be that. Good luck!
  19. @@joatsaint, I did the same thing. I have never actually worn a seat belt on a flight, crazy right? I can't wait til I don't get the dreaded stare also!
  20. Congrats on your surgery and glad to hear you are doing so well! You are now on your way to success! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! It is okay to post and not just read!
  21. @@punklandia according to the ingredient list that one is Protein isolate so it is the right kind of protein. I use unsweetened almond milk in my shakes for lower fat and less sugar.
  22. @@TexasGirl86, if you are not sure then make sure you track your foods. Hang in there everyone it fluctuates week to week and there will be stops and starts but look at what you have accomplished so far. It will come just be patient and follow your plans! Good luck!!
  23. Eeek, I also don't like cottage cheese. I would suggest googling high Protein and low carb recipes. Look at different spices and things to change up the flavor. Do a Mexican chicken with peppers and onions or Italian chicken with zucchini. Mrs. Dash makes some great blends to use. For me its important for it to taste good and have flavor. Don't burn yourself out with plain chicken for example or you will begin to stray out of boredom. Good luck!
  24. Congrats and good luck! Everyone feels like they will be the failure but the tool works just stay on your plan. It is all what you make of it and it looks like you are committed! You will do great! Keep us posted on your progress!!
  25. I agree, be grateful. So many have a rough time. I also didn't have any issues and I continue to do really well as I add things back into my meals. Congrats!!
