  1. Call and ask for pre-certifications...ask has there been a determination on your surgery approval.
  2. Stopped pain meds on day 3, drove day 5 (wanted to be sure they were out of my system), back to work day 11 also
  3. At least the wings were protein...you could have eaten cake! lol
  4. I wouldn't think it was typical but maybe some good walking shoes might be worth the investment? Maybe it is the incline also since you are not used to it. Try waking with no incline to see if it still happens.
  5. Congrats to you on your success! Keep up the good work!
  6. Is the endoscopy your surgeon's requirement or your insurance's?
  7. Congrats on your success so far. Sounds like that has motivated you to work hard and stay focused. Isn't this surgery a wonderful tool to help us get where we need to be?? Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!!
  8. Regardless of what the reason, be it texture or anything... Check with your nutritionist. They have run into this before and will have an alternative for you. Good luck!
  9. Congrats! One hurdle out of the way!
  10. I took 11 days but really could have gone back to work early at 7 days. I took the time to rest and heal. I started driving at day 5 and worked on building my energy back up. I recover pretty quickly from surgery and also have a mostly desk job.
  11. Everyone's journey is different for sure. People are at different weights and carry their weight differently. Some have been exercising before surgery and some not at all. Some have bad knees, hips and backs and some not. The point is to get up and get moving. That may be more than you ever did before. I know for me I avoided exercise and I know that it MUST be a part of this plan I am following. I started slow and actually did 5 minutes on our treadmill at 2 miles an hour before my legs gave out. Now I walk 1.5 miles a day and am building to more. The more I lose the more I am able to do. I do weights 2 days a week. The more I do there also the more reps I can do. Get up and walk to the end of your driveway and repeat til you are tired. The next day go a few feet more. Before you know it you will be walking miles. Don't compare yourself to others, this is your journey! Good luck!
  12. Follow your plan to the letter. You may make it or you may not, its a marathon not a sprint as they say. Good luck!
  13. Just keep sipping. Initially the intake is difficult as you are so swollen and just had major surgery. Focus on getting as much as you can in and increase every day. The danger is dehydration at this point. Set a timer if necessary but take a sip as often as you can...small sips add up! Before you know it you will be drinking more normally. Hang in there!
  14. I was sleeved as an outpatient. The first 3 days I took my pain meds but the pain I felt came more from the hernia repair than the sleeve. I felt okay enough to stop the pain meds day 3 and was driving day 5. Everyone is different so your journey may be a completely different story. Good luck!
  15. Full liquids are still liquids and they pass right through. You should not rely n restriction to see when you are full when you get to introduce foods. Measure everything so you don't over eat. Good luck!
  16. What is your insurance looking for that it could be as few as 3 but up to 6 visits?
  17. I was sleeved as an outpatient on 5/15/15. Been doing great!
  18. Keep a copy of everything! It is a shame that we have to do so much of the work they are paid to do but it is reality. Go get your report and hand deliver it. Good luck!
  19. That is normal intake for where you are. I am a bit over 8 weeks post op and depending on the day I am around 600-700 calories. You are doing fine!
  20. @@MIMISAN said it. There are lots of reasons he may be resistant. Talk it through with him and explain if you get healthier you will be with him for a much longer time. You can still go to eat out, you will have leftovers and make better choices. You need his support! Good luck!
  21. For me I was sleeved and my Diabetes was gone next day, off both meds as of surgery and blood sugar is stable and low. I have read may times here of GERD being an issue after the sleeve. Do what is right for you. Good luck!
  22. sugar free Popsicles. They count as your liquid and you can chew them. Good luck!!
  23. Congrats on not having to do the pre-op diet. I did 14 days but it wasn't really bad and I lost weight on it. Good luck with your procedure and keep us posted on your progress!
  24. I eat deconstructed sandwiches also. I just don't want the extra calories and carbs of bread. Also I was told by my nut that some folks have issues with bread becoming a ball of dough causing pain in the sleeve. I don't want to even find out if I am one of those people.
  25. Congrats on your date, let the planning and preparation begin! Good luck!
