Driving post op

How long before you were able to drive? I know not to drive while on pain meds.

I started doing short (2 miles or less) drives on the 5th day. I was still hurting pretty bad and didn't want to get too far from home. I hadn't taken any meds since the day I was released. I was back to my normal self by day 8 and back to work on day 11.

Stopped pain meds on day 3, drove day 5 (wanted to be sure they were out of my system), back to work day 11 also

Whenever I was off narcotic pain medication and can safely turn side to side to be able to drive safely

I drove today for a few miles... felt like I was in slow motion
