  2. @@samskiles @@urukugal just added you ladies!
  3. I'm in dfw! You (and any other dfw people) feel free to add me! I would love people to chat with about this. I am hoping to have surgery early to mid September. Sleep study is last thing I need and it is scheduled for the 31st
  4. Lucky! I am just taking 2 days paid time off and 3 days unpaid...
  5. Wow! You're on tough cookie haha
  6. Everyone's input is wonderful! It really helps gauge how things can possibly go. I tend to get stir crazy if I stay inside too long so I am shooting for heading back to work after one week with the flexibility of needing to go home if I become too tired/pain from chair.
  7. Hi guys! I am still pre-op but figured this would be the appropriate forum to ask- how long did you take off work for the surgery? I have currently told work about one to two weeks. I just sit on a computer all day and I think I could work from home if necessary. Just trying to get a consensus of what other patients have done. Thanks!

  10. Thank you! I'm so glad to hear so many good things about Dr. Kim. I am excited to start this journey!
  11. Not yet! sleep study is scheduled for July 31!

  13. Update: I HAVE ONE! I had my EGD this morning and it went great. Doctor told me I had a small hiatal henia so we are moving forward with the surger!
  14. Thank you! Sometimes when I eat I feel like I'm gonna pop, and when I get up to walk I have to like suck it in to feel relief from pain in my stomach. I don't know if that means I might have one buying praying I do!
  15. Mine is scheduled for July 8 (2 days away)! I had my consult on my 23 birthday. I have insurance but WLS is an exclusion so Dr. Kim proposed the hernia route. I'm very nervous now that I will not have it... I really need this or else I can't afford the $15K price tag.

  17. Hi guys. I'm new here and was wondering just how common is a Hiatal Hernia? I've been obese most of my life and the doctor office keeps telling me I probably have it but I cannot help but worry because without a hernia I cannot afford the surgery...
