    Major Stall

You may not be getting enough to eat. My NUT adjusted my nutrients up when I hit a stall and that was the problem. Especially if you are exercising. You should check with your NUT to make sure.

    Eggs

I used to eat eggs in any fashion at least once a day. I can now eat hard boiled, fried over easy, and poached, but I absolutely cannot stomach scrambled eggs. No matter what I try, I just can't do it. And I used to LOVE them. Oh well...????

    RNY

I had RNY April 8. Down 40 pounds and loving the smaller clothes, being able to cross my legs, bending over to tie my shoes without grunting... You know... The little things!!
  6. I cannot emphasize how important it is to track your food and liquids. Every time I have hit a stall, I have been able to look back and see what was different. Twice it was because I wasn't getting enough food in. My nutritionist was able to look back through MyFitnessPal and see the issue. Tracking keeps you accountable for your choices. I went through gastric bypass which as most of you know is NOT FOR SISSIES and I decided that it would be so stupid to go through all of this only to end up where I started by gaining weight back. You have to choose to be diligent about tracking. You have to choose to want to be successful. Choose wisely!!

Could it be I am not eating enough?

You may not be eating enough. That happened to me. Once I increased my calories from 900 to 1100, I started losing again. I use My Fitness Pal to track everything which is I huge requirement for success. TRACK TRACK TRACK!!!

How long do the stalls last ?

I hit a stall at 8 weeks also. I was stuck for almost 4 weeks. I spoke to my NUT and she adjusted my calories and protein/carb amounts. Two days into that my stall broke and I am down 3 pounds and back on track. I wasn't getting enough calories so my body was holding on. Touch base with your NUT and see if that is the problem. It will pass.

    "Brave" choice?

Gastric bypass is not for sissies!! It is brave to choose to have this type of procedure. After all the diets, the pills, the regains, the tears, the frustration, and the unsuccessful attempts to try and be healthier, there are still people out there that would never choose this. We are brave! To take control and to trust our doctors to help us be as healthy as we can takes courage because most people would not want to work at this! Take it as a compliment!! No matter how they may have meant it. Good luck!!
  10. I am 4.5 weeks out and I totally know where you are coming from!! I PROMISE YOU it will all be okay. Everybody is different in how they recover from this so give yourself a chance to heal in your own way. You will be feeling much better in about a week and then you are on your way!! When you can, walk as much as possible and get your water in however you can. You will be okay!!! Hang in there!!

    Lots of pills

The place that saved me from throwing every pill out the window is The Vitamin Shoppe. I found my multi in a soft chew, my calcium in a soft chew that tastes like tootsie rolls, my probiotic in a soft fruity chew, and I get my B vitamins in a once a week nasal device (from Nasocobal) so getting my vitamins in is no longer a nightmare. They also carry Quest protein bars which are so yummy and 20 grams of protein each. I half them for mid morning and then evening snacks. They are nationwide so look them up and shop their site.

    Hello, new here

My go to protein shake is Performance Whey Isolate Vanilla Shake flavor. I tried about 15 different brands until I found this. I mix it with 10oz skim milk and two packets of Splenda. 38gms of protein per shake including the skim milk. I drink one in the morning and then my food supplements the rest of my protein requirement. But in the event that I just can't get the food in, I will drink another for dinner to make sure I have my protein in. It is not chalky, I mix it with a blender bottle so it doesn't get too frothy, and the flavor is really good. I got this at Costco but I am sure they sell it at other places like GNC, Walmart, etc. It does get better. I swear! Hang in there!

    What ya eating tonight?

I have had great success with Performance whey Isolate (Vanilla Shake). I mix it with 10 oz. skim milk and add two packets of Splenda. I tried about 15 different types before I found this. It's 30 gms of protein per shake. I started out drinking two a day but then dropped one as my food is now supplementing the rest of my protein. Good luck!!

    Pain

chicken and Pork are really hard to eat because they do not soften up and they are very dry. If you can't cut it with a fork, it's gonna be awhile before you can swallow it. I had my first dumping incident over pork and I think it will be a long time before I try to eat that again!
