  1. I add various flavor extracts like vanilla, mint, raspberry, coconut, etc. I also like PB2, unsweetened cocoa powder, cinnamon, and decaffeinated instant coffee. Unjury chicken soup flavored protein mix is good when you get sick of sweet protein drinks.
  2. Try adding unsweetened cocoa powder to your chocolate protein shakes. It's low calories and adds some additional chocolate flavor. If you like peanut butter I recommend PB2. It's powdered peanut butter and much lower in fat than conventional peanut butter. (I mix it into vanilla protein shakes)

  4. I found that I felt better as time went on. I'm on day 12. Just a couple days left. At least the steak was protein. Get back on your horse and stay away from other people when they're eating.
  5. @@BusyLizzy Good luck with your pre-op diet.
  6. @@JosieAppleHead They inadvertently left out my shaker bottle but immediately sent it after I contacted them. Great customer service.
  7. What surgeon are you using? I'm having surgery on Monday at the OCC.
  8. Unjury sells chicken soup flavored protein and also plain protein powder that you can mix into things you do like. You need to get that protein in.
  9. I really like the chicken soup flavored protein. I like many others got sick of all the sweet shakes. The thermometer is to make sure you don't make it too hot. The protein will congeal if it gets too hot. They recommend 140F. Enjoy!
  10. Thanks for sharing. I'm having my surgery on Monday. I've learned a lot of good information from the many great folks on this site. Good luck on your journey.
  11. For me it was my cousin openly sharing her weight loss surgery experiences in Mexico. Without that I wouldn't be having surgery on Monday and I'd still be gaining weight. Learning about this site and the affordability of surgery in Mexico led me to my decision to have this done.
  12. @@RNsleever715 Shustar used a different Dr. Ortiz. There are two in Tijuana. I see them get interchanged a lot on this site.
  13. @@RNsleever715 My surgery isn't until Monday but everyone that I've talked with had very positive things to say about him, his staff, and the facility. My dealings with the staff has been very good.
  14. The most recommended items to me were lip balm and GasX strips.
  15. From what I've read that's good. Perhaps even great!
  16. Some of those Swanson broths sounds good. I've not heard of them before. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them.
  17. I've learned so much from this site. There are so many great people here and they're always willing to help.
  18. Empty carbs like pretzels not only don't fill you up, they drive additional hunger. Stay away from grains. (Bread, crackers, rice, etc) Add plenty of green veggies. If you need a dressing, make it zero calorie. Even reduced calorie dressings are a killer. Good luck!
  19. @@EnglishDan Thanks for sharing! You have boosted my motivation. I'm on day 11 of my pre-op liquid diet. Between pre-pre-op dieting and the liquid diet I've lost a pleasant amount of weight. I have a hard time seeing it. I have noticed a change in the way my clothes fit though. Keep up the great work!
  20. Snack on high protein low fat foods if you must. They'll make you feel fuller longer. I plan to keep a supply of jerky around.
  21. @@Licia'sjourney Hang in there! Some days are better than others.
  22. @@Mp1409 Yes, I'll be at the OCC. I arrive at the Marriott on Sunday and depart Thursday. Perhaps we'll run into each other. How's your pre-op liquid diet going?
