  1. @@JamieLogical I appreciate the information. I sent my coordinator a message and he said that it will be sent in a couple of weeks. I'll let the others in my surgical group know.
  2. @@RNsleever715 Once you arrive you will sign some paperwork and do your pre-op testing (EKG). You will then be taken to your room where you will change into a hospital gown. The nurse will setup your IV and give you something to relax you as you wait for your turn. Once you are taken to the operating room they will give you a drug that will make you feel really good. The next think you know is waking up in recovery. Then back to your room. Once the anesthesia wears off you will get up and walk around a bit. They will bring you ice and water so you can start learning to sip. (Go slow) The IV will remain until the following morning. You will receive fluids, pain drugs, antibiotics, and anti-nausea drugs in the IV. The next morning they will remove the IV. You'll get dressed then receive some medications to take home. Then you are taken back to the Marriott. There were 5 surgeries yesterday. Met some nice people. You'll do great.
  3. @@JamieLogical I saw that I need to request the surgical notes. Did they then mail the information to you?
  4. I just had surgery in Mexico yesterday. I don't expect to have any complications. I will see my primary care physician in 2 to 3 months for blood work and possibly adjusting my prescriptions. If I had anything bad happen I'd go to urgent care or the ER.
  5. @@RNsleever715 The surgery went smoothly. The surgery only took 30-40 minutes. I was up and walking shortly after I returned to my room. I had some gas pains yesterday. Today I still have discomfort from the gas but not as bad. I'm able to drink water slowly without any issues. Had a bowl of beef broth breakfast. I'll have no problems getting my minimum fluids in. In a nutshell, I'm doing better than I thought I would be. I'm sure I'll feel better with each passing day. The staff at the OCC is great. A very pleasant experience.
  6. @@tacha22001 You're almost there! Pretty soon you won't be bothered by yummy popcorn. I'm looking forward to the day when j can get backkon real food. Today my "real" food was broth. I spent an hour working on 1 bowl and still left a little. Good luck with your surgery.
  7. @@JamieLogical The patient ahead of me just went in for surgery. I've got my I.V. in and some happy drugs. It won't be long now. @@JamieLogical The patient ahead of me just went in for surgery. I've got my I.V. in and some happy drugs. It won't be long now.
  8. @@RNsleever715 I know what you mean. When I switced over to Ketosis I felt really bad for a few days. After that I felt great. I lost a lot a weight following that plan though. I made it through the liquid phase easily after that. I'm sitting at the OCC as we speak. I'm waiting for my turn in surgery. You can do it!
  9. @@LynRey70 Thank you! I just arrived at the hotel. Resting until tomorrow.
  10. @@BusyLizzy Yep! I have to leave the house by 3:30am to make my flight.
  11. If you make adjustments I'd start small. Your body takes time to adjust and settle. You will start losing weight again. My goal is to keep my carbs below 50gr a day. I honestly don't know what my calorie target will be but yours seems reasonable to me. I've been doing about 500 calories a day for the past 2 weeks and have been pleased with the results.
  12. @@Licia'sjourney Thank you! I'm just about packed. I have to get up at 2:30am to make my flight but I'm excited and ready to have this done.
  13. @@BusyLizzy I'm ready. Having surgery at the OCC in Tijuana by Dr Ariel Ortiz. I did a 2 week liquid diet and followed a low card high protein diet before that.
  14. Some of the things I've read are to mix up your routine. Switch out some of your walking sessions for some strength training. And as strange as it sounds, try upping your carb intake a bit. Others suggest staying the course and it will eventually pass. My first stall happened while pre-op. (My surgery is Monday). It lasted 11 days and wasn't broken until I started my pre-op liquid diet. I was eating a low carb high protein diet and walking about 25 miles a week. Good luck!
  15. Personally I think that's too much protein for one meal. I've read that the body can't absorb that much at a time. 25 to 30 grams seems more normal. I also prefer lower overall carbs. I typically use Premier Protein shakes which have 30 grams of protein and 5 grams of carbs.
  16. @@blessed247 Good luck! We have the same date!
  17. @@emtscott54 Hahah! I don't own either so I'll have to rough it.
  18. @@mandaroo I've seen PB2 at Safeway and Walmart. Online at Amazon and recently saw that Unjury had it.
  19. @@rgodfrey09 Cholula sauce is my favorite. I'm looking forward to using it again once I'm post-op.
  20. @@BusyLizzy Not yet. My surgery is on Monday.
  21. @@Mp1409 I'm being sleeved at the OCC the day before you. We may pass each other in the hall or at the Marriott.
  22. I weigh myself every morning and log the data into a spreadsheet so I can plot the data in a graph.
