  1. Nah - that is every weekend regardless! Already planning a naturist holiday to Croatia later in the year! I hope that is after you fry the bacon Sunday morning -OUCH!
  2. If you have to work overtime on the weekend, is it a "Stark-Naked Saturday"?
  3. Wow, your company's "casual Friday" is really liberal!
  4. Your body is going through hormonal changes. You may have some emotional bruises or scars due to your obesity that maybe talking to a professional could help you to deal with. You are not alone feeling that way. The weight loss journey is not only a physical one, it is a mental one too; you will be stronger for this.
  5. Quickies: Make a smoothie with some 1% milk and artificial sweetener, raspberry SF Jello w/some low fat whipped topping and raspberries on top, throw some in your oatmeal or on top of a nice mixed greens salad. There are plenty of recipes out there on the internet; also others you can substitute raspberries for.
  6. Eat what you are allowed to eat and be thankful you are surrounded by friends and family, have your health and will be living a long and healthy life due to your WLS to enjoy many more Easters. Happy Easter, you will do well and your family will understand and support you.
  7. Have a long heartfelt talk with him regarding your feelings, love for him and how you want to grow old with him. Express the facts about obesity regarding his health. Take him to a few bariatric WLS group meetings so he can hear strangers talk about their successes and journeys. He has to be ready to commit to a lifestyle change to make the WLS succesful. Unfortunately, sometimes people need to sink to the bottom before they want to swim to the surface.
  8. The local fast food restaurants go out of business. Your dog gets fatter (now that there are leftovers). Your scale doesn't make a groaning sound when you stand on it. You have a fancy designer label on the back of your jeans instead of "Pass" and "Don't Pass" over the back pockets. But seriously, at first you may see yourself as the same, but people will be noticing the difference. Your clothes will fit looser, you will have many NSVs, you will not mind having your picture taken or looking in the mirror or weighing yourself, you will have more energy; the list goes on and on.
  9. Dust yourself off and get back on your weight loss horse. You are only a human and we do falter from time to time. Return to the basics that helped you lose the weight before (drinking enough Water, eating enough Protein, exercise, measure your foods and journal your daily results if necessary, etc..) You can do it!
  10. Go for it. Good luck.
  11. They are one in the same. Roux-En-Y = Gastric Bypass. Definitely continue to research so you learn the pros and cons of each surgery so you can discuss your findings with your surgeon to make the best WLS surgery decision for you.
  12. Most people will probably still be true to the core values that they believe in. With weight loss there also are different levels of self confidence that comes with it. Some people are still very self confident, even when obese, others develop a much stronger self confidence. Self-esteem should also improve for everyone. A few people, IMHO due to years of being submissive, become arrogant. Some of them even post on this website.
  13. Stalls (plateaus) are normal. Your body is adjusting to the weight loss (and associated metabolic/hormonal changes), less calories, etc.. Search here and "Google" it. Basically, don't sweat it.
  14. to snack, or not to snack? --that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. To diet, to sleep.... Enough Shakespeare. If you really need a snack and it isn't due to head hunger, stomach acid etc. and a drink doesn't subside it; try to pick a healthier, lower calorie and if possible a higher Protein choice. Just be careful of mindless eating and grazing.
  15. Nothing wrong with that, you will be eating that way in the final phase. Now if you picked up a fork full of food and said "here comes the airplane" as you made it go through airplane loops and turns towards your own mouth, well that might be cause for concern of the people you are eating with to slowly, walk backwards away from the dining room while keeping eye contact with you.
  16. It is probably best if you follow your surgeon's plans.
  17. You should be starting the puree stage very shortly, it gets much easier with each stage. Hang in there, you are doing a great job. As already mentioned, make sure the hunger feelings isn't really due to stomach acid.
  18. She should get a goldfish and flush her husband down the toilet.
  19. Fresh mozzarella & tomato slices, garnished with basil leaves.
  20. Congratulations!
  21. I guess you drank all of the Tequila the 1st night?
  22. Spices are the variety of life. I introduced very spicy (hot) food slowly in intensity to see how they affect my stomach. I never had any issues. Introduce very spicy foods slowly up to the point you "feel the burn" that you enjoy and let your stomach be the judge.
  23. I wish thinking about exercising could begin to jump start.my metabolism.
