  1. This one side effect I was most afraid of!! Some call them "Grandma arm," some call them "Bye, bye arm." I have compared myself to a flying squirrel or a bat because, baby... I have grown wings! I have never had the most toned arms but they have been solid. Now, they are just hanging and blowing in the wind! I love the my weight loss journey so far but I am not loving my arms and thighs right now. HELP!!! Somebody fix it. [emoji17]
  2. My natural hair ladies, I need your help! So I'm in or very close to month 3 post surgery and somewhat dreading it. This is the month that people seem to have noticed hair shed and loss. I'm vigilant and understand that I am not super woman and immune to what will be but I can't tell. I'm a natural with a big head of thick - ish hair. And I can't tell the difference between post surgery shed or my normal hair shedding. Naturalistas, could you tell a difference?
  3. 244.5 today. Yaaaay! Have a great week everyone! ????
  4. I didn't get out of work in time to attend. I really wish there was one on Saturday or Sunday. That would be perfect. If I were more knowledgeable about WLS, beyond my own experience, I'd start a group of my own. Just a sit down where we could discuss the ups, downs, tips, exercise, recipes, scale and non scale topics. Maybe...
  5. I'm was never a fan of skinny jeans or pants but just for the heck of it, I grabbed 3 pairs to try on to find my size. I grabbed a 20, 18, and a 16 to see how far off I am. The 20 was huge and laughable... I put on the 18 without unzipping and unbuttoning them... I tried on the 16 and they fit comfortably! I couldn't believe it! The cherry on top was fitting into an XL sweater and button down! This journey has given me my confidence back!!
  6. This is definitely 1 of my favorite threads!! Here's a couple of me at 299 and 1 last one of me trying on size 16 pants and XL sweater!
  7. Thank you!!!! I live in Hyde Park and work in Woburn. I'll click on the link to see what time the support group is. Hopefully I can make it
  8. Hey!! I was sleeved 3/30/15 in Denver and just moved back to Boston about 2 weeks ago. I need a support group and a follow up practitioner. Any suggestions?
  9. Happy Sunday, I'm at 246.5 today. Have a great week!
  10. @@Smye I feel inspired!! Since moving back home to Boston I've been having the worst cravings to go visit my old food haunts. To settle it I'm using your recipe and making pizza today! Hopefully that'll solve it.
  11. My starting weight is 249! Good luck everyone. We've got this!! ????
  12. Thank you! I'll have to give this a try! ☺
  13. Good morning! I'm searching through the pages in this thread losing my mind trying to find yhe recipe for noodless lasagna. Didn't we talk about that? Or was that on another thread? I could have sworn it was here. Either way, do you have a recipe for this? I have found recipes on Pinterest but would love your take on it.
  14. I'm in!! I missed my goal in the last challenge by 2 lbs! But I did reach my initial goal and surpassed it. My goal this time is 240. I CAN lose 12 lbs between now and 7/4.
  15. I just started watching Scrotal Recall on Netflix. Its funny and cute!
  16. Good Morning, I'm at 252. Close! But missed the target.
  17. Yup! I blew it in week 2 post op. The liquids were getting on my nerves, I was sad, crying everyday so I had a tablespoon of peanut butter even though I wasn't supposed to yet. But the risk of busting my staples or having a leak made me get it together. I went through too much with this surgery and paid to much money to blow it. So you're not alone. Just be careful for the reasons already mentioned.
  18. Good morning, You and your family are in my thoughts. Please continue to do the best you can to stay strong and do whats best for you and your husband. You take care, we'll be here when you come back ????
  19. I tried on a pair of size 16 jeans. They were stretch fit, but guess what... THEY FIT!!!! I'm emotional. I still have a long way to go, but off to a good start!
  20. I loooove Meetup! I find different groups whenever I move to a different state! I've even made a few best friends via Meetup.
  21. Yes! I lost about 10 lbs. And my liquid diet was for 3 days!
  22. So here's my 2 cents, if you're ready to date go for it!! I met someone online the week prior to surgery, then went out on a first "date" during my second week post-op. It was not a traditional first date (dinner, drinks, etc.) of course and he knew that I had had surgery on my stomach and wouldn't be able to go out to eat or drink but wanted to hang out anyway. So we did! I carried my Water bottle and we went for a walk. I definitely say, go be social!! Go out, go meet people, or get online!! Good Luck!
  23. Good Morning, I'm at 256 today
