Go for it I have pcos as well so I know the struggle I am almost seven months out and here's my before and after pictures, I was supposed to get it when I was 21 but I kept backing it out, I finally realized that I needed help I can't do it by myself I decided to have it 4 days before my 24th birthday as a gift to me and I can't be even more happier this was the best gift I gave myself, I can't wait to my 1 year anniversary and 25th birthday I am gone have a celebration of my life time

Hey everyone! I have had a weight issue my entire life. I've tried so many diets and nothing worked for an extended period of time. My health was deteriorating and I needed to do something serious.
My RNY surgery was October, 2013 and it's the best thing I could have done for myself! I topped the scale at 409 pounds and I'm only 4'11". I had diabetes that was out of control, walked with a cane, had already had one knee surgery, and had a pinched nerve in my back and needed to take 800 mg of Motrin every night to even sleep. I also had reflux, which my surgeon fixed during surgery. It was caused by a hiatel (sp?) hernia. I had no life. I sat in the chair after work and needed help from my chocolate lab every time I needed to get up. I'd wrap my arms around her neck and she'd back up and help mama up. I was 45 and wasn't living.
At my 2 week appointment after surgery, I was down 30 pounds. I've had an incredible support team between my husband, my family and my co-workers. It's been an incredible journey. I can do so many things now and am so grateful to my surgeon. I'm still losing now, but very slowly. My goal is 140 pounds. Almost there! Im down a total today of 261 pounds. ????.
I do not eat bread of any kind, no Pasta, potatoes, fried food, sugar or soda. I eat fruit, veggies, Protein and will treat myself with sugar free candies when I want something sweet. I'm very strict with myself. My dad used to tell me, "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!" I lost my dad in January but I know he's cheering me on.
I'm now off all my diabetes medication, all my reflux medicine and just on a Water pill and thyroid pill (plus all the daily vitamins). That's ok! I'll do vitamins!
I hope I can help someone. Thanks for reading. ????
A current picture is below. It was taken at 150 and I'm now at 148. ????

Oh do NOT do it. Trust me the dumping is NO joke. I would hate for you to find this out. Just TRUST me on tat one.
I am 22 months out and still having a problem with food.< /p>
    I do get cravins, too.
Sometmes i give in and i end up regrettin it.
I do remember my first taco bell. It was 4 months post op. I had 2 bites of a regular taco, Just cheese and meat. 2 bites and i was on the toilet AND throwing up at the same time. Not fun at all.
Try just to wait, 3 weeks is way to early, my opinon. If you give in to the cravings you are gonna be in the same boat as you were before surgery.
    Good luck!

I'm glad to hear the cat scan was normal. Keep in contact with your surgeon.
Nausea seems worse for some with an empty stomach. Keep sipping. It will get better.

I had pain for 4 weeks, left side. I used pain meds as long as I needed to. Nausea has gone on much longer but it's finally almost completely gone. I take meds for that sometimes still as well. For me, it's a matter of learning what foods I can and cannot tolerate cuz some will make me feel bad. Good luck and hang in there. Itmmight be a slow recovery but it does get better and is definitely worth it! I hit 100 lbs lost today from a year ago --woot, woot!

Whoa! Reading these stories certainly takes me back to a time when all I did was regret my actions and cry. I remember a friend who had a previous procedure telling me that it will get better I was in such a depressed state I didn't believe her. But believe me it does and boredom is like our worst enemy. I am three months out and down 73 pounds. As the weight comes off you'll feel better and then you'll do more. But as for right now just focus on your liquids your Vitamins Protein and rest. When I think back to my first week I was so depressed being three months out seemed so far away. Now I'm heading towards month four. Time truly does travel fast and I am blessed. I work out and I go to work but I feel so much better. My only concern is that you eventually I stop hating food because now eating is such a chore and I hate it. But please know that you certainly are not alone and that we have all been in your shoes and that this too shall pass

I have to agree, once a week is not frequent, funny thing is that I have not smoked for the last month because is something that I can stop at free will. To me an addiction is something you can't willingly stop on your own, such as tobacco users who can smoke up to a pack a day. I have recently stopped just because I don't need it, just like I don't need wine - While several months ago, I was having wine every week, I now have wine maybe once every three months, but with Marijuana being so widely used and now being legalized in several states, I was just curious. I am sure everyone has their own perception, and I have agreed for myself that smoking marijuana would not be best for me after surgery, but I would welcome open minded perspectives to this subject on those that have used it and what was the experience.
