  1. I got a cold right before and was terrified they would cancel it. The dr ordered a chest X-ray and it was fine. Surgery went on as planned. I did fine
  2. Doing very well....so happy I did the surgery. Gave me my life back. No complications so far.
  3. A month..stay on your plan and stay off scale. One of many as you continue your journey. Your body is confused about what is going on..lol
  4. Congratulations...keep on your journey
  5. Just relax..let it be in God's hand. Pack light for hospital..loose clothes, tennis shoes and the most important item for me was Chapstick. Best of Luck.
  6. I tried one today for the first time. I could only eat half but I will say it was very good. I bought several flavored. Today's was coconut cashew. I bought them at Smith's/krogers
  7. I have to take benefiber every morning. I just add it to my water or protein shake. It does not have a taste and it has helped me.
  8. Remember you have a new stomach and it has to heal.. Sometimes we forget that because we can not see it. 8 weeks is not very little long. Be careful
  9. Don't let the scale have power over you in this journey. You will loss at all kind of rates. Sometimes the weight falls off and then there are times you will have a slow or no weight loss. Follow your plan and you will loss. Don't get discouraged.
  10. My first month was no straw. Mainly to eliminate air in stomach while my new stomach was healing. I drink out of a straw from time to time now with no problems. Good Luck
  11. I could only eat about 1/4 cup or less at each meal. But it has gotten better. But it is still interesting at 8 months, that sometimes I fill up on a few bites and other times, I can eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food. Makes no sense,so I just roll with it. I listen to my body and when I approach getting full..I stop. I hate that stuffed feeling.
  12. Congratulations on your weight loss. You are going to be so amazed of your new life. Best thing I have done for "me". Everyone is different but remember it is a journey. It takes time to reach the protein and fluid goals but you will get there. One day at a time. Best of Luck
  13. At 57..it was my first time being in a hospital and never had surgery. I was very nervous but gave my fear over to God. He brought me through perfect. Also nag with a great medical team. I'm so glad I did it. Saved my life
  14. Congratulations..you did it!
  15. You sound like your doing fine and things are normal. It takes a little while to get up to your goal for food and fluids. Give yourself time
  16. I was in the same place. I did take advantage of having my friend with me. Mostly for just support and knowing she was there. It was more for support. So glad I did. She is my strongest supporter.
  17. Don't let the scale have power...stay off of it. The weight will come off. Follow your plan and be gentle with yourself. It is your new journey to a new healthy life.
  18. I have used the Fairlife skim but it does not seem to keep as well as other skim milks. It has great protein. Just wish it came in pints or quart size
  19. Skim milk..I need the protein verse the lower protein in almond milk.
  20. Congratulations...you should be so proud of yourself. Thanks for sharing you journey
  21. Protein shakes..already made. Sugar free Popsicles, sugar free jello, bottled water, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, broth and sugar free applesauce.
  22. I'm 7 months post and I still do not get hungry. I have to keep my food/fluid journal to stay on track or I would never eat. It is the weirdest thing I could never of imagined my relationship with food to change so much. Plus my tastebuds have changed..so what I use to love does not taste all that great. Good luck on your journey
  23. I use Nature Made sublingual B-12. Melt in your mouth and work great. Got them at Walgreens, Safeway or Walmart. Cheaper at Walmart. My multi vitamin has 100% but my surgeon wants extra.
