Glad everyone made it through! I'm still sucking on ice chips waiting on my upper GI. I am sooo thirsty! My pain this time is nothing compared to the lap band surgery

That's great thundergrrl!!!!! And haha same here! I was expecting a lot of pain just preparing myself for what some were saying here and I guess I was a lucky one...just have some soreness but the hydromorphone (morphine?) is taking care of that ...I have a high tolerance for pain though too so that could be it. My mouth is dry still and sleep is always difficult in a hospital, but I'm also an extremely light sleeper. They just came in and took bloodwork, I'm guessing the doctor will be seeing me around 8am

I'm scheduled for 7:15am Wednesday morning!
I dropped almost 15 lbs the last 2 weeks on my pre-op diet. 2 liquid meals and a small carb free Protein dinner. I'm so ready!

Hey Tamsboyd! I'm in High Point. I was in surgery for about an hour and I've gotten up and walked about 4-5 times. I feel good! Hope you're doing well!!

I had my surgery too. All went well. My hubby said I was only in the OR for an hour and that was with a band removal. I've walked once and ver comfortable. Hope everyone's went well!

Had my surgery today and so far so good! I feel good! Been up walking and drinking my G2. Hopefully will go home tomorrow!!

I'm nervous, excited, so many emotions! I'm 25, married, and have two little girls that are 4 and 2 1/2 months old. This will be my first surgery ever, I've never been put under for anything so It will be an experience! This has been a very private event for me so having others who are going through the same thing, at the same time would be awesome.
I'm ready to do work! ????????

I didn't even think about my surgery time mattering.. but now I want it to be first thing in the morning so I don't have to be super hungry or thirsty!

I'm about to leave myself for the hospital. I've spent the morning cleaning just trying to keep myself busy and off the fact that I'm a bit hungry and would love a cup of tea. Best of Luck to you!

It's almost midnight here in Texas which means no Water, no nothing! "My bags are packed, I'm ready to goo..."lol ugh, I won't lie you guys, I'm terrified! I hugged my two girls a little tighter tonight, risk of complications are low, but they are there and I'm trying to pep talk myself with all the usual things people say when they don't want u to stress...I don't care about the pain or not being able to inhale food anymore, I just want to come out on the other side and live my life the way I was meant to!

My surgery is in the morning !! Nervous is an understatement. I pray all goes well tomorrow for those of us having surgery!

I certainly know how anxious and scared you must be. I had sleeve on Feb 25th and have done very well. I am still on puréed food but will advance to soft in 10 more days. I will say a prayer for all those going to surgery tomorrow.

The unknown scares the heck out of me! I just keep filling myself with positivity thought and telling myself that everything will be okay and I'll do just fine. We both know that not everything will be rainbows and bunnies, but it won't be forever unlike our current situation if you know what I mean lol

Sleep will be hard for me too! if u can't sleep feel free to come here and talk through your emotions, I'm sure we are all feeling similar....I have Been non stop researching all day, it's like I'm trying to reconfirm or convince myself that what I have already decided is the right thing, Silly isn't it!

@@losing_the_band everything you say backs up what my research keeps telling me and is my fear. The thought of lifetime of new habits with the sleeve seems hard but doable and most of all healthy. A lifetime of dealing with regurgitation and pain from food sticking in pouch sounds unhealthy and worrying about long term complications down the road - who needs that! Since I first posted this I have been to my surgeons seminar and read a lot more. Definitely leaning toward sleeve now. HAVE RULED OUT LAP BAND FOR SURE BY NOW. Even curious about RNY when at first I didn't ever think I would go that extreme. But I can't argue with the long term statistics which are best and longest historical records of sustainability with bypass. So now my question should be sleeve or bypass? I love it that insurance and surgeons will let me choose. Just hope I choose the one I can succeed and live with the side effects for the next 40+ years while still on this Earth! Thanks to everyone providing this amazing blog conversation. I love the honesty with real people in the real world trying to help each other. I plan to lean on you all for years to come. ????????❤️

I know I won't be able to sleep! I'm in bed now sleepy but can't sleep. So nervous!

Hey everyone! Glad to hear ya'll are doing good and keeping busy! And update on me: Enjoyed my last high Protein meal last night..Ive been drinking my orange Isopure since 8am and I haven't even finished half of it. I'm trying to get as much Water in as possible. Having to make food for my family is harder on only liquids, but I'm managing well the hardest part for me aside from only liquids is not drinking after midnight or in the morning and not letting my nerves prevent sleep!
