We'll all be waiting for you here on the other side. In fact I'm dusting off your spot on the bench right now! ????
Just remember to breathe, go with the flow, and do whatever they tell you. The first few days are rough, but will pass by in a haze. You'll do fine!
Let us know how it goes and good luck!

I only took my cell phone, a pillow for the ride home and biotene mouth spray. I only used my pillow and my cell. I played games while waiting for surgery and never touched it again.
I wore home what I wore to the hospital.
    Good luck!!

Well, that's a whole lotta new info.
Once again, you experienced your experience. And you understand things from your perspective (based on what you think you know). But there's a lot you misunderstand and don't know.
As others have noted, your lack of knowledge revealed in your OP about how WLS patients can retain most of their muscle mass (or even increase their muscle mass) while losing weight is unfortunate -- not just because it's wrong and sad, but because you're using it to rationalize your own experience. And that and your other rationalizations will block your future progress.
Before I had WLS surgery, I did learn about the nutritional and exercise best practices for post-op WLS patients. I learned that post-op while losing weight I should eat a lot of Protein and exercise regularly to avoid losing a lot of muscle mass.
And it turns out, because I followed my bariatric center's instructions, that's exactly what happened. Of the 90+ pounds I've lost after WLS only 12 pounds of it was muscle. I'm not guessing or assuming this. I've had pre- and post-WLS body mass measurements taken. As a result, my lean body mass has increased 15%.
BTW, all of the things you started doing 1 week ago (3 years after your WLS) -- tracking your calories and other macronutrients and tracking your steps -- I started doing 2.5 months before my WLS. In other words, I never considered that WLS alone was going to fix me without me also changing my own behaviors / lifestyle.
I'm sorry that WLS didn't work out for you. For that, you have only your own impulsiveness and your continuing lack of education about WLS to blame. But that's in the past. Looking forward, you'll be well served by not continuing to remain ignorant. More importantly, your rationalizations about WLS won't serve you well either. If you really want to debug your weight challenges, you'll need to keep trying to understand accurately what caused your post-op weight gain.
For others reading this, the OP's posts here illustrate some important truths about WLS:
    (1) WLS should not be undertaken lightly.
    (2) WLS patients MUST take responsibility for understanding nutritional, exercise and other behavioral requirements for post-op self-care.
    (3) WLS can be a wonderful aid to losing and maintaining one's weight loss long-term IF patients don't suffer the delusion that surgery is all they need to achieve success.
Best wishes to everyone out there who's considering WLS. Educate yourself as much as you possibly can. Seek therapy if you need it. As the saying around here goes, "They operate on your stomach, not your head."

    please forgive me
i've been keeping a secret from all you wonderful people
    i had a FACE LIFT
    June 25th (5.5 weeks ago!!)
    i was soooo scared
    i thought long and hard
back and forth before making this hard decision
if someone has a bad/looking? experience with a TT that is awful
but no needs to see the appearance of the tummy
if your face gets screwed up - you are stuck
(doctor told me a i would look like he PUNCHED) me in the face (a bunch of times )
would have had to buy a zillion paper bags !!!!
i've always had a "turkey" neck
wanted this surgery for a long time
didn't want to splurge with money
    i thought i wasn't worthy
    please don't yell - that's how i felt
having lost over 100 lbs, i decided the heck with it!!!!
    "i'm worth it"
my PCP suggested a plastic surgeon
i met with him - he seemed good, very nice too
i then saw 2 others plastic surgeons
they seemed fine too (just as good)
since my doc recommended the first surgeon
i decided to go with him
i have a "pretty" good new looking body since my weight loss
i wanted to go all the way and fix my face too
the neck was the MAIN thing i wanted to get fixed
at 61 year YOUNG, i have some wrinkles too
few wrinkles gone would be a plus
told me i would look like he PUNCHED) me in the face (a bunch of times )
lots of black and blue marks
    teeny one under my eye
most coloration was on the sides of my face
    and behind my neck
not as bad as i expected
improving day by day, feeling a little better
didn't go out for about 3.5 weeks
didn't want to scare little kids at the grocery store
the first two days PO were very painful
i always have problems/with side effects from anesthesia
i act a little delusional after recovery room (upset, not knowing where i was)
    yelling, bunch of stuff
hubby said i was talking weird
and i was talking sooo much (what else is new? )
doc said after 3 months of "settling"/face
he could do a "tweek" here or there if we decided
    no extra charge of course
he does a little touch up sometimes
in his office with local anesthisa
don't know if i'll need it
at times i'll use my silly comment
    "i'm cute as a button"
    now guess what
    I'm CUTER than a button
I never regretted having the sleeve (no problems ever )
    now.........
i will never regret having the face lift
    CONGRATS to ME

Like I said, the real travesty here is that you rushed into this surgery like so many others thinking it was going to be the miracle cure for your obesity. If you would have done your homework, you would have understood the good, the bad, and the ugly before hand, and it would have helped you make a better decision. This is why I truly believe there should be mandatory waiting period (aside from insurance requirements) for WLS to educate and then evaluate whether the person is ready for this life changing surgery. I suspect there would be a lot less surgeries performed, because I see people who flat out weren't ready to make the changes needed after the surgery every day on here.
Oh, and yes I'm on this site every day. Your little dig about how you're a busy "professional" and don't have time to be on this site all the time is just another example of how you have no idea how to use the tool given to you properly. Studies show that people who find support (wherever it may be) are more likely to be successful with the surgery. This site is a touchstone and source of support for many, many people, including me. And I too am a busy working professional.
I have absolutely nothing against you personally. What I do have an issue with is you coming onto a site that offers support to so many who are reaching out and spewing falsehoods and flat out lies about WLS and claiming it to be gospel. If you would have just said "Look guys, I screwed up. I didn't know what I was getting into and now I'm over my head and think I've made a huge mistake", you would have gotten a completely different response.
But you coming on here and basically telling people who have had or are going to have WLS that they too have made or are going to make a mistake is where I draw the line.
    Good luck to you.
