What was the final straw to decide this?
For me I have battled weight all my life. Like many here I lost and gained over and over. The tipping point for me is when we had out first son. I want to be the best Dad I can be. To me that means running around and being active with him. I had the surgery almost 5mo ago and between that and working out I feel like a new person. My son will be 2 next month and he is for sure getting a benefit from dada being able to run, play, and not get tired so easy. Now we are expecting another boy, so I will have my hands full. I'm glad for me and my family I did this.

Spanx for men?
I recently bought a "Under Armour Men's HeatGear Sonic Compression Short Sleeve Shirt" This one to be exact. http://goo.gl/47sQWg I originally got it since its was getting hotter outside and I like to walk at lunch during work. This has replace my undershirt. I was surprised it was comfortable to wear 9/10 hours. I also like the way it makes me look especially on "casual Friday" when I typically wear a polo. The only thing I was hoping for was it hold the jiggly stuff in place a little more when I jog/run. I guess that is a compromise between comfort and constriction

What am I missing ?
I understand your first post and was confused by it as well. More so on people who don't update their profile information where is shows they had the procedure a long time ago, but the weight recorded doesn't reflect that. Anyways I'll share. I'm down 101lb and about to hit my 5mo mark. Here I am in October and probably not even at my heaviest before surgery Here I am right now. I just took this pic at work because of this thread I still have 60+lbs to go, but I fell like a new man already.

What's your exercise routine
Ready the few replies here makes me feel like I need to step it up During a typical week I walk at work during lunch. There is a 1.65 mile loop that has some good elevation to it. The only down side is I am walking in my work clothes (suit pants, dress shirt, tie). I will do this at least 3 or 4 days (I work from home on Monday). There is also a 3 mile loop I have starting doing. However with weather in the mid 80s at lunch I am going to reserve that for "casual Friday". Then in the evening I will go to 24 Hour and do another 30 to 40 min of intense caedio. A few nights I will only so 15 min of cardio as a warm up then an hour of weights. I do this routine 5 nights a week. The other 2 days I am active, but want my body to rest and recover.

Strange Info from NUT re: Carbs
I've been on 60g of carbs for a for a while now, but that is my MAX I try to stick to. Today I am a little over at 67g. If you do the Net Carbs then that is 55g.

Carbs Before Workout
If I am going cardio only then no need to eat prior. When I lift with my trainer he likes me to have carbs like sweet potato. He also likes me to have a banana before our sessions. After the workout he also recommends some carbs to assist with recovery with Protein. My go to is a single serving of Kashi GOLEAN Crisp Toasted berry Crumble Cereal. It has 9g of protein and I will add the other half a banana. and a 3/4 of milk. Seems to be working out for me.

Baked Hummus-Crusted Chicken
I want to say it was @@Smye that posted this in an update. I tried it last night. Its was REALLY good. The chicken turned out super moist and the veggies were prefect. Here is the link to the recipe I followed. lunch today. One of the breasts weighed 4.5 after cooking so that worked out well for another meal and still had veggies left.

Cheated on liquid diet
I'll be honest. I cheated on my pre-op liquid phase. I can remember making a Target run and passed a McDonald's. I "wanted" a Fish Filet, fries, and a triple cheeseburger. I ate it, regretted it, questioned my frame of mind and thought to myself WTF are you doing? I think at the time I was feeling a "OMG I need to eat this or that because I will never get to have it again". Which now I know isn't true. I just choose not to eat these things. For me the pre-op liquid phase was the hardest part. Stick with it. It's a small step to a much larger goal.

Alcohol! Alcohol! Alcohol!
I rarely drank before WLS, but I have had a few drinks post WLS too. One or two drinks aren't going to throw me off plan. I was at after work function or as I call it "mandatory fun" on Wednesday night and had 2 jack and cokes in the 2.5 hour period i was there. The funny thing is I actually tracked it in MyFitnessPal

Are you keeping your surgery a secret from family and friends?
I don't advertise it, but I don't keep it a secret. The important people in my life know.

What healthy protein snacks do you have?
The guy is looking for suggestions for snacks and not a debate. Just going to /unsubscribe now

What healthy protein snacks do you have?
I can't take credit for it. I read it somewhere here on the forum about making deviled eggs. The recipe called for some of the yolk to be mixed in. There are some good qualities to the yolk. However if you need to watch Cholesterol its best to leave it out.
-
What healthy protein snacks do you have?
These are good, but remove the yolk. All the Protein is in the white. You can also replace the yolk with hummus.

Drinking Diet Soda
I'm almost 3mo post op. I just recently tried a Coke Zero. I found that drinking from the can its way too fizzy for my taste now. I poured it over ice and didn't have a problem. This doesn't mean that I ran out and started buying/drinking it again. I'll treat it as a "special" item. I don't crave soda like I once did.
