HOW LONG OFF OF WORK?
I was out 5 work days. I had my surgery on a Wednesday. Discharged from the hospital on Thursday. I went back to work the following Wednesday. I honestly think getting up and moving around as soon as I could can AND as often as I could greatly improved my recovery time.

Attention scale users! A new challenge.
I'm 4 weeks post-op today! I have definitely become a slave to the scale. I try not to let it effect my attitude (I'm very happy with the results so far). I did take measurements and have seen the decrease in some areas and an increase (due to weights) in others. I need to challenge myself to stop getting on the scale every morning.

how long did people take off work for recovery?
I was out for 5 days. Surgery was on a Wednesday and I returned the following Wednesday. In regards to the walking 20-30 min. I broke it up into many small walks. I live on a cul-de-sac and it took 10 mins to circle. I just did that a few times a day while recovering.

Feels like starting over - Transitioning from full liquids
I had my first post-op check (3 weeks and a day) with my doctor and had the class nutritionist about transitioning. I was happy because I can have different things now. However as I am sitting here with my pureed chicken with a little mustard my stomach feels like it did when I first started on full liquids. A lot of gurgling and what not. Anyone ( or everyone ) experience this sensation?

Pre-op Binge eating
While I wouldn't call it pre-op binge eating there where certain items I wanted to have before surgery. The week before my 2 week liquid diet I allowed myself to have those foods. After that I made a committed choice for myself to do all I could pre-op that my surgeon asked me to do. I'm sure at some point in the future I will be able to have some of the foods I once loved again. However this time it will be in much smaller portions.

Everyone exercises?
I started 3 days after I was sleeved and I've been everyday since.

Food dreams
The last couple night I have been getting food dreams as well. It seems to be the same food item, crinkle cut fires. Which is odd since I rarely ever ate them.

I tried a protein shake for the first time with skim milk - allergic reaction
Have you tried any other brands? I like and have been living off of Premier Protein shakes (already mixed). The chocolate is my favorite followed by vanilla. I buy them from costco.

Getting sick of this liquid only phase
I take Iron, but not everyday. I was told Benefider was OK, but not fiber like Metamucil or anything else heavy in psyllium husk Thanks for being concerned though

Getting sick of this liquid only phase
Sorry for the gripe, but that is what this part of the forum is designated for. Tomorrow 3/25 will mark my 4th week on liquid only. Two of these weeks were pre-op and the last two post-op. I am happy with the success I have had thus far. That being said the liquid only part is just getting old. I don't have my 1st follow up appointment until next Thursday 4/2. Even then my plan says 4 weeks liquid post-op. Which for me means I have 2 more weeks of this till the next phase. I think i need a ticker just to count down till April 8th when this 4 week period will be over I know everyone who went through WLS has had this struggle at some point. I just wanted to vent for a second.

Ok man to man Question here
Milk of Magnesia worked for me. That and a wooden stick to bite down on. ouch... lol

Hmm.... Week 1 weight loss, or not.
I lost 19 lbs pre-op (360lb at surgery) and as of this morning I am 344. There is part of me that wants more. However I am only 9 days post op. I have to remind myself I didn't get this way over night so i can't expect it to come off that way. It's hard to not be a slave to the scale. I like NSV more. My clothes are fitting better and I have have been losing inches on my measurements. Stay positive and keep up the work.

Tmi alert
I took a half dose (15ml vs 30ml) of Milk of Magnesia. Dr. said it was OK. I took it right before bed. It seemed to help.

Anyone else ever shop at DXL?
I hear the underwear from there is quite comfy. So I've heard, but at $22+ a pair I'll stick to the 4 pack of Kirkland boxer briefs from costco. Those are comfy as well.

March Sleevers
I was on the 11th as well. Hope you are doing well

Anyone else ever shop at DXL?
I've been a long time shopper at DXL. I've always liked their polos, button down short sleeve shirts, cargo shorts and graphic tees. It's good quality stuff but it definitely comes at a cost. Now that I've been sleeved I look forward to never having to limit myself or shop in that store again. On a different note. My favorite jeans come from Duluth Trading Co.

Man boobs?
This is something I kind of worry about too. Hell in reality I have had these moobs for almost 30 years of my life. The best I can hope for is just making them smaller.

March Sleevers
Jill I am on my last day of the pre-op diet. I have been averaging between 640 to 800 cals on any given day. I am down a little over 20lbs. MyFirnessPal flips out on me with what my intake is 1200, BUT that is for a normal 2lbs a week type plan.

How long after surgery until you were able to do more rigorous exercise?
How'd you feel?
