irizarryteam got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in 2 monthes post op and have lost no weight since week 5
Try to up your calorie intake. I stall if I eat too little and exercise. I get in around 800 to 900 calories a day. Some days I just eat a couple teaspoons of Peanut Butter to get my calories higher. I'm three months out and have lost 52 pounds. It's all good.

Being satisfied on 4-5 oz of food post-op has been much more rewarding than being stuffed on 4 cups of food pre-op. I can't explain why it is, but it is.
    Best of luck!

I am one of those weirdos that's never mourned food.
Instead, I mourn the healthy body I should have had when my kids were toddlers, elementary aged, in middle school. I mourn the years of missed family pictures because I hated being near a camera. I mourn the irreversible damage I did to my knees from being heavy for so long.
I mourn all the times I chose not to go skiing, or to the top of the dunes, or for a hike through the mountains. I mourn all the money I wasted on food that was slowly killing me.
I am almost two years out and I can eat anything I want. I am released from the constant need and desire to eat crap. I can spend my time outside with my kids, not overheated or panting for breath after a run down the trails. I can shop in the same stores as my two teens and I get a thrill every time they borrow something from my closet. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
I have more energy than ever before. I can do anything I want. I am no longer the fattest person in the room. It's a amazing feeling.
Hold on, chicky. You will get there!

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 3/30 too. When I woke up I had such severe nausea that I had to stay two nights in the hospital. My first thought was "what did I just do to myself!" But it has greatly improved and I'm starting to get my Protein and Fluid in. Not at the recommended amount yet but more than yesterday. So that's progress. Tomorrow is another day. ????

First and foremost, I have never had a single second of regret. Despite the stricture, the constant nauseated feeling I had for the first few weeks (meds fixed that), my inability to drink plain Water (still! almost 2 years out!), and the constant diarrhea (still! almost 2 years out!).

That's all the bad stuff, all completely tolerable as it replaced the constant guilt for cheating on whatever diet I was on at the moment. The gassy, bloated feeling I had from whatever "bad" foods I had gorged on that day. The dread I felt about stepping on the scale.
My size 8 wardrobe has replaced my size 20. Brightly colored clothes have replaced most of the black in my closet. Heels are comfortable now. I may have poop Soup, but I no longer have to wait for the handicapped stall because a regular stall is too small. I was able to do any exercise I wanted before, but now I can exercise without sweating profusely the moment I start, I can breath comfortably, I don't have to stop to "get a rock out of my shoe". I no longer wear capri pants when it's cold outside because they are the only pants I could find that fit. I don't care if my hair and makeup is perfect and I can go out in workout clothes because I no longer feel as if I look like the fat lady who just didn't give a ****.
I can eat in public without being self conscious. I don't feel the constant stares (all in my imagination, I'm sure) when I walk through a mall full of teens. I am no longer the fat mom. Hell, I am no longer the fattest person in the room, hoping someone fatter will show up. (Ha! It's been so long, I've forgotten about that until this very second.) I thought I would miss food. I don't. I don't miss the fat lady stores, I don't miss buying wide shoes, I don't miss the looks when I get on an airplane, bus, train or theater -- you know, that look that says, " PLEASE don't sit next to me!!".

No, no regrets. The little blips on the radar are were all worth it. I am most surprised about how much I was fooling myself when I thought I looked and felt great. Let me tell you, it's was nothing like I look and feel now.

Hi everyone! I had surgery this past Monday (March 30). I did well until the nausea started and stayed with me for two whole days. They kept me an extra day in the hospital. So thankful for that because they could give me all my meds through iv. Finally home. Having a hard time sleeping on my back. Besides that doing well. Tomorrow I start full liquids with Protein Shakes and Vitamins. Glad to hear that many of you are doing well also. Thanks for all your posts. They are encouraging to read as we begin our new sleeved lives. Have a blessed day everyone. Remember to keep sipping, sipping and sipping.

Surgery today and oddly enough, I'm not nervous. I'm excited about the possibilities that are on the horizon. In a few short hours, I'll be an official sleever! Wish me good luck!

It is really bizarre that I had surgery on Thursday and I'm not hungry. 1/4-1/3 cup of food depending on the consistency is enough. I know we read this ahead of time, and hear it over and over but I had that fear in the back of my mind of "what if it's not enough & I'm still hungry?" Now that I am experiencing it first hand it is a reality. Feeling good & looking forward to my first check up on April 13th!

I'm getting my sleeve on March 30 too! I just started my pre op liquid diet today. I feel like I'm doing mental calisthenics making sure I want to do this. Yes I do! I just want to have little or no complications. And it seems like each person is so different in their experiences. Hope your liquid diet goes by quickly.

Jebv1949 my surgery was March 3rd. and was pretty uneventful too. Very little pain except for the hiatal hernia repair and that was not bad just an inconvenience. The whole experience was amazing! My surgery was done using a robot, I don't know if that made a difference....... no pain, tiny incisions and no bruising. I was very surprised. Now to get through one more week of the full liquids diet.
